Both CP and CN are being affected by protestors blocking tracks. For us and you, our customers... that could mean delays in shipments moving across Canada and getting to port.

A blockade at a rail crossing in Tyendinaga Township near Belleville, Ont., has disrupted rail service between Montreal and Toronto for the sixth straight day.

Birdseed ingredient markets finished the
week's trading with a weaker undertone in sympathy with general anxiety in
markets following Britain's bote to leave the European Union.
The U.S. based National Sunflower Association notes that futures
markets "had a rough week as bearish weather forecasts and the surprise
vote in Britain to leave the European Union rattled markets.
"Sunflower prices were able to hold up better losing only 10 to 20
cents this week. A return to mostly favorable Midwest weather into early
July is pressuring row crop prices and encouraging more fund liquidation
as we head into next Thursday's USDA planted acreage and stocks reports,"
the NSA said.
"Most traders are looking for USDA to increase its current estimate of
soybean acres from 82.2 million acres to near 84 million acres. Sunflower
acres will also be given in the report. The market is expecting non-oil
acres to show a moderate decrease from last year with oil-type acres
holding steady to slightly lower than last year.
"While it will take months, if not years to know how the vote outcome
in the United Kingdom will play out, it sent commodity prices off a cliff
as investors moved out of risky assets and put their money into safe
havens such as the US dollar and gold. Financial markets are a mess after
the Brexit vote and will take a while to sort themselves out."

North American birdseed ingredient markets
finished the week's trading unchanged to firmer.
Confection sunflower, white proso millet and Canadian canaryseed
markets were mostly unchanged on the week. By contrast, oil-type sunflower
posted solid gains in sympathy with strength in canola and soybeans.
Looking at the situation, the U.S. based National Sunflower Association
(NSA), noted, "New crop sunflower prices are very competitive with other
crops and processors are still offering 2016 new crop cash and Act of God
(AOG) contracts for fall delivery.

International field pea markets maintained
their firm tone through the past week as inventories remain tight relative
to prospective demand.
Movement from key exporting nations such as Canada remains relatively
strong, with the Canadian Grain Commission (CGC) continuing to report that
bulk movement so far this marketing year remains at a record pace, despite
an overall drop in exports as reported by Statistics Canada.
The most important destination remains India. Interestingly, that
country's Food Minister Ram Vilas Paswan says that pulse imports between
April 1 and February 11 had already set a new fiscal year record at 5.31
million MT. He said imports for the entire 2014-15 fiscal year totalled
4.58 million MT.
