In less than 7 days I had both siblings reach the climax of their post secondary stint in academia. RD is now a professional chef and Cyndal a soon to be registered nurse. I could speak of how proud I am, but I am more than proud I am elated by their achievements. While I, their eldest brother, is currently 'homeless' living out of a bus they are reaching new heights in their careers. I both hope and pray that they go on to do much much more; as I hope for myself as well.

As my mother told me this week: "My greatest hope in life is to have you (Cyndal, RD, and I) do better than I have." I hope we can make can make you proud, mom. You and dad have prepped and groomed us into what we have become and what we will become. As we take flight from the nest I'm sure we will (and have) fail to catch a gust of wind and land, or less gracefully: crash, into the ground. However, with the parents we have being the wind in our sails we have no hope but to succeed.

I am exceptionally grateful for my entire family both immediate and far reaching. We are a clan full of encouraging, caring, and God loving people. My hope for the future is that we continue to impact the lives of those in our immediate presence and we continue to explore the world and beyond with a sense of childlike wonder and innocent desire for discovery.

Congratulations, Cyndal and RD. Good luck in your respective fields. I love you both.

As we dig ourselves out from the massive 80cm blizzard that destroyed the province yesterday, I can't help but daydream from my desk of open air and more adventure. As cold as it may be it's the stories that matter it's the experience that matters. If you don't do anything outside your comfort zone or never do anything that makes you uncomfortable, can you truly grow? Can you truly be happy? I'm happy; sore muscles but happy. Go out and live today, this week, this month!

Being back in the "real" world isn't nearly as fun as exploring Quebec with my camera, but working is a part of life.

If you are saving for something you're dreaming of getting, do it. You can skimp past with the bear necessities to achieve your ultimate goal. Forego that bag of chips or that coffee while you're out. Small purchases add up and in order to get to where you want to be you need to sacrifice and have patience. And remember, patience is a virtue.
