Some new signage will soon be in place alerting traffic to slow-moving vehicles in the County of Lennox & Addington.

The County of L&A in combination with Lennox & Addington Federation of Agriculture (LAFA) have spearheaded this safety initiative.

A slow-moving vehicle (SMV) signage falls under the warning sign or traffic safety marker category (specifically, warning triangles or traffic congestion and delay warning signs).

The purpose is to alert approaching motorists that a vehicle ahead cannot reach or sustain high speeds, giving drivers time to slow down.

The common application often applies to farm tractors, agricultural machinery, construction equipment, horse-drawn buggies, and road maintenance vehicles traveling on public roadways.

Let's give way and provide safe threshold to the farmers who work tirelessly in our region.

The overall appearance of a design project should embody policy and consistency between pieces. It is important to set clear rules for visual elements so that a brand or design looks professional, unified and easy to recognize everywhere.

How do you achieve this?

Colour Palette: Choose a primary and secondary colour and specific tones, ensure they stay the same.

Typography: Use only two or three fonts across all projects. Keep headline sizes and body text styles the same.

Layout: Put items in the same space on a page using alignment tools and grids.

Hard to believe the summer is coming to a close and fall is about to make an appearance.

This ceremonial "changing of the guard" does not mean the fun is over. There is still lots of time to get out and enjoy some music at a great venue. Harrowsmith Brewing Co. hosts open mic nights and live music Saturday's at their barn.
