How will women's financial inclusion evolve in - one of Africa's biggest economies?

According to research conducted by CCX consultants István Szepesy and Dóra Ayumi Solymos headed by partners Anna Gincherman and Benedikt Wahler, for the Financial Alliance for Women and Data2X, the access gap by s*x will be reduced in the coming ten years, coupled with a significant increase in access to finance for women.

What are your thoughts?

Note: The projections are made on the basis of a marginal analysis at mean values, due to the non-linear nature of the logit model. The graph is rebased from mean values to actual values in 2020.

has an extensive MSME sector, comprising of around 2 million enterprises, which makes the sector one of the largest employers in the country, providing employment to approximately 2.5 million people. Despite the potential for national economic prosperity, the vast majority of these SMEs lack the proper networks and professional competencies such as accounting, book-keeping or even machinery-based and internet skills needed for their businesses to thrive.

Stanbic Bank Uganda recognizes SMEs as the next frontier for economic growth and is uniquely aware of the challenges facing SMEs. In collaboration with ConsumerCentriX, Stanbic Bank will address these obstacles by deepening its value proposition for SMEs.

Earlier this month, we kicked off our three-year project with client interviews around Kampala to gain comprehensive customer insights that will inform the expansion of the SME value proposition. As we work closely with leaders and staff members at Stanbic Bank, we can see firsthand the company’s top to bottom commitment to building a deeper understanding and relationship with their clients.

This work is made possible through the generous support of the Argidius Foundation.
