We, designers, might be great at creating beautiful things, but there’s one thing that we’re not capable of. 👉 It’s reading other people's minds. 💭⁣
⁣
That’s why before jumping into any project we always ask our clients to fill a questionnaire 📝 and tell us what expectations they have. This step is crucial for us to create a mood board. ⁣
⁣
‘What’s a mood board?’ – you might ask. 🤔 It’s a collage of images that represents your brand’s look & feel. It consists of photos, phrases, colours, textures, patterns, shapes and any other kind of visual pictures. 🖼️⁣
⁣
This particular mood board was created for ceramics studio Molinė Virtuvė - keramikos užsiėmimai Vilniuje before starting to design a logo. 🎨 As you can see, this collage of images sets a clear colour palette, imagery and fonts selection. The overall look creates a mood of joy, creativity, energy and positivity and that’s exactly what our client was wishing for! 😍⁣

Typography is important as much as colours, icons & logo for the brand visuals. The chosen typeface can either reflect your content and your message or make your audience confused. 🤷‍♀️

How long would you spend on a task without understanding why it's important? 💭 Probably, you’d quit fast, because without a clear reason for doing something, it’s almost impossible to finish the work. 🙅⁣

While reading Abby’s Covert book 📖 “How To Make Sense Of Any Mess” about information architecture I found that some principles apply to every aspect of our lives – personal and professional. One of them is 👉 START WITH WHY before doing anything.⁣

Having the answer to this question is certainly helping me to get up in the morning, to finish what I started, even to create this post and share it with you. It’s not always easy to find the answer within me and sometimes it can take weeks ⏳ if not months, but once I have it, even the hardest task seems possible.⁣

As we mentioned before, colors impart a tone of your brand BUT choosing the wrong ones can push away your target market. ❌ That’s why you need to know what chosen colors stand for and how they’ll help to create the results you’re dreaming about.

This time we are sharing a color palette that was created for one of our clients. 👠 Look at it as an example of how the combination of different colors can reflect the right mood and values.

This color palette consists of three main contrasting colors:

🔴 darker shade of red,
⚜️ rich gold,
🔵 dark blue.

Each color helps to create feminine 💃, luxurious 💎 & elegant 💋 vibe of the brand (which was one of our main goals).
