The new Open Call for the Fotofestival Lenzburg is now open! Submit your projects or single images on the theme "Forever Happy" by May 20th.

An international jury will select the photography works to be exhibited during the next edition of the festival in May 2026. Apply here:

About the theme 👇
FOREVER HAPPY explores the contradictions of happiness in contemporary society—both its fleeting nature and its pervasive influence. In a world where happiness is marketed as a commodity, shaped by social media, consumer culture, and personal expectations, how do images construct, reinforce, or challenge our understanding of joy? Can photography capture the essence of happiness, or does it merely reflect its impermanence and societal constraints?

As we celebrate International Happiness Day, we’re excited to announce the theme for the 7th edition of Fotofestival Lenzburg: FOREVER HAPPY.

This edition FFL interrogates happiness in its endless permutations and contradictions. Often discounted as a critical category because of its seeming superficiality, happiness appears as a driving force in our lives nowadays. We all look for happiness in different places: how can images help us understand what happiness is and what its limits are?

We invite photographers from all backgrounds to explore and challenge the concept of happiness through their lens. Submit your work, share your vision, and be part of the festival!
