Typedesign from the end of the World. Latinotype is a new digital type foundry established in the year 2007 in the city of Concepción, Chile.

Our goal is to design new typefaces remixing diverse influences related to our South American identity (most often known as “latino”) with high quality products for the contemporary design industry.

Not another grotesque. Suspiria doesn't join the packit breaks it.

Sharp angles and taut diagonals leave no room for doubt: there's firmness in every stroke, a rhythm that doesn't negotiate. The high optical center in the caps and the wide, sturdy lowercase work together so the text doesn't ask for permission — it takes it.

In its Black weight, the tension hits its limit: terminals touch, spacing tightens, and the text block turns solid, almost architectural.

Suspiria rejects neutrality. It bets on recognition over uniformity, on character over conformity. It's not a typeface that fits into a system it's one that defines it.

Not every geometric sans wants to be friendly. Amigável does and it doesn't need to break its own structure to get there.

The letterforms stay upright, precise, generous in proportion. What changes is in the details: a single-story "a" for a project that wants restraint, a double-story one for a project that wants personality. Same family, different mood, no compromise on legibility.

A sans serif font designed for low contrast.

Phase Grotesk maintains consistent stroke weight throughout, giving it a stable texture. Its curves are taut and slightly compressed, avoiding the perfect circle. The closed openings of the “e,” “c,” and “a” are reminiscent of early sans serif typefaces used in signage and vintage catalogs that’s where its sincere, unpretentious character comes from.

These imperfections are more noticeable at large sizes. In body text, they soften without affecting readability. That’s why it works equally well in high-impact compositions as well as in interface design, publishing, and branding.

Marcante. Kept in Portuguese because no translation does it justice.
