Typedesign from the end of the World. Latinotype is a new digital type foundry established in the year 2007 in the city of Concepción, Chile.

Our goal is to design new typefaces remixing diverse influences related to our South American identity (most often known as “latino”) with high quality products for the contemporary design industry.

W***y Caslon isn't just a predictable revival; it's Caslon reinterpreted through our editorial vision at Latinotype.

We began with Caslon's classic structure: moderate modulation and a slanted axis. Then, we added greater formal control. The sharp terminals are a signature feature. You notice them in the serifs, in the a, c, and r. The curves narrow and concentrate—especially in the counters of the a and g and the shoulder of the n. That's where the rhythm resides.

The contrast sharpens at stroke ends, giving more presence while maintaining readability.

True italics with their own construction, along with properly designed small caps, are made for system integration. These are built for editorial identities, digital projects, and applications where a serif needs to convey weight.

W***y Caslon connects to Caslon's classic spirit but is designed for contemporary use.
