GASA is an NGO focused on solving graduates' problems, & providing holistic support to children, girls & women living in villages & slums.

We help the youths to solve the problem of unemployment by engaging them into community development.

Our youth holiday computer and career bootcamp has witnessed several phases this year. The first phase took off successfully with pre-teens, teenagers and young adults from 18-21years. We witnessed a young generation willing to exemplify skills, curious to learn new things and ready to explore.

Even more interesting was their interests in discovering the different career options as presented to them. Unemployment cannot be resolved at the time people are already in need of jobs. Unemployment should be buttressed at the time people are taking course.

Our pride is that we are raising a generation that is exposed, full of integrity and know exactly what they are looking for. While we pride ourselves in giving skills to city dwellers, we are also concerned about those living in suburbs, who have not even seen computers.

We promised that we will wrap up our Youth holiday bootcamp training with a career seminar.

We officially launched campaigns for the GRADUATES' SUMMIT 4th Edition 2026 on all our Whatsapp platforms. As the coordinator of our education programme, I have had the opportunity to talk to hundreds of graduates. So many of them show up at our office location searching for well paid jobs. Many of them after participating in our interviews show their frustrations in finding a career that suits their certificates. Most graduates who move round looking frustrated are mostly people from very low income backgrounds, and those from average income background.

Each time you give an ear to their worries, frustrations and their inability to grasp figure out a bright future, all the complaints are tilted toward poor political reforms that always neglect the have not. Some graduates after expressing this frustration choose to stay back in the classroom; that is continue schooling, while some try to grab life using anything available. No matter how much we blame the political class for poor policy ex*****on, the problem is ours and the solution lies with us; our choices.

The problem with the aforementioned graduates is that most of them do not understand the mechanism upon which the global economy runs. Most of them have a misconstrued thinking on entrepreneurship (reason why many have embarked on buying/selling: Trading). All of these won't move you forward. As long as you operate on a local machinery while the global society has a standard machinery upon which it functions, all of your efforts will only succeed to pay your bills.

No politician is so concerned about what happens to an individual. Their job is to make and execute policies. Your responsibility is to equip yourself to meet the standards set. Until then, any local attempt to succeed will only foot your bills. Sometimes the first step to look for success is attending the right programmes that trigger you to think in the right direction.

There is no way we can prepare the next generation to curb on unemployment than to help them get digital skills at a tender age. For our three years of intensive mobilizations and trainings, this year's digital holiday training was exceptional. The children who are committed to our teachings have begun to understand why they should embrace computer literacy with all energy. At the GASA Skills' Centre, it is not only computer literacy that is taught to participants, they are taught plausible career paths I'm STEM Éducation and they desire to explore them.

There is nothing a parent or guardian or brother/sister would do absolutely that can help this generation catch up with the world trends rather than giving them digital skills. Most African children are like a century behind the rest of the world and it would take a lot of energy for them to catch up. This exactly should not scare us. What should be our concern is to ensure that one thing is done at a time. GASA Skills' and Research Centre is dedicated to ensuring that the youths, women and children are given the right skills that can propel them to approach life positively.

At the GASA Skills' Centre, we not only bring out the talents in youths, we focus on those areas where people find it difficult accessing basic study materials.

Every year, my team & I do contributions from individual pockets with the help of some generous individuals to make sure that writing materials are distributed alongside educational talks. These youths have been motivated to focus on academic excellence. Multiple career options were presented to them & most of them got clarity on what they have to do & where to find them. We keep adding value to Cameroonians. When our goal of every Cameroonian owning a product or a service is fully established, then we can seat up comfortably. Before then, digital literacy is our mantra, exposure to all career paths and functional skills is what we pursue with diligence and truth.

We remain committed to combating unproductivity and ignorance, both in general and digital contexts. Our approach to implementing necessary changes to foster a conducive environment for quality employment is deliberate. Consequently, we have set an ambitious target to equip 1000 young individuals with skills that can enhance the business landscape in our nation.

At the GASA Skills' centre, our focus is on four key sectors: education, technology, business, and agriculture. We recognize that establishing systems that can bring about significant impact will decrease unemployment rates.

Furthermore, we acknowledge that the root cause of unemployment lies in an education system that fails to meet the needs of the population. While awaiting systemic reforms, we are intensifying efforts to empower youths, particularly those from disadvantaged backgrounds, to navigate the job market effectively.

Unemployment is largely a problem of the graduates than that of the state. When youths are largely unprepared for what is ongoing in the global, national ans local communities, they will fail to achieve their dreams. They will equally lack the strength to build strong entrepreneurial base that can harness growth and development.

One day capacity building on digital awareness, practice and transfer of competences to learners held at Progressive Comprehensive College in Bamenda to equip and inform the teaching staff of the importance tech skills.

This was held on December 10th to enhance the 16days awareness to end digital violence on women. Emphases was reinforced on the teacher to arm the girls in schools to be digitally wise and earn skills that can enable them to also compete with their male counterparts online. If the female students master using technology so well, it will shun people from intimidating them. This is to counter the general idea that only the boy child is fit and capable of doing Science. Ending violence also entails encourage the girl child to be part and parcel of STEM EDUCATION.

Teachers were equiped with skills on content creation, photo & vidéo editing, creation of Google forms, web development. This is to ensure that the large school population that is made up of 55% girls can gain from the knowledge and in turn arm themselves.

This is how we saw it this weekend. Our objective is making sure that those in underprivileged environments match up with the revolutionary changes in Education. While we are focusing on the psychomotor development of those in cities centres to develop hands-on practical skills in education especially in Computer development, we do not forget that there are so many out there who have not even understood what it means to go to school. This is why we make it a habit every year by going round villages to do this gestures. This year, our focus was on Matazem in Menka in Santa Sub-Division.
