I Googled my own name this week.

Google saw "Nelvis" and immediately said: He.

I have photos. A whole face. A whole personality.

Still said he. 😭

It made me think how often do we let a name, a title, or a first impression write someone's whole story before they even open their mouth?

I'm Nelvis. Yes, a girl. Probably the first you've ever met. 🙃

And I've learned that the most interesting people are always the ones the algorithm gets wrong.

This weekend let people surprise you.

People often say that as a designer, you have to build systems—so I decided to put that to the test.

For one month now, I have been building that system.

It was difficult at first to stay consistent

There were days when it felt easier to just go back to the old way of doing things.

Even though I haven't fully mastered the routine yet, I can feel the progress.

April isn’t just a new month;

it’s a reminder that it’s never too late

To establish those goals we can still achieve those goals we set for 2026

Some people think being a "pro" designer is just about making things look pretty. Honestly? You’re a bad designer if you’re leaving your clients confused. 👂

I’ve learned the hard way that clients don’t just come back for the design—they come back for the experience. They want to feel heard and seen.

Here are 4 things that might be killing your client relationships:

1️⃣ Not explaining file formats (Educate them!).

2️⃣ Ignoring brand guidelines.

3️⃣ Arguing instead of listening to their ideas.

4️⃣ Skipping the discovery questions (This is why you have endless revisions!).

I sometimes wonder why the rest we promise ourselves never actually comes. But then I realize the truth:

Whether your progress today was a tiny step or a giant leap, stand tall. Every win belongs to the version of you that refused to quit.

My heart is filled with gratitude, from my Heavenly Father to my parents, aunts, uncles, grandmothers, and friends.

The past 20 years have been quite a journey, and I’ve made it this far because of the amazing people in my life who have shaped me into a better person.

I dedicate my 21st year to God for His continued direction and guidance.
