African football has been thrown into complete chaos after the Confederation of African Football (CAF) made a stunning decision to overturn the AFCON final result two months after the match. Senegal, who were originally crowned champions after defeating Morocco, have now been stripped of their title. Morocco was awarded a win due to a controversial walk-off incident during the game. From the dramatic stoppage in the final to the delayed ruling and Senegal’s expected appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport, this story is far from over.

🚨 BREAKING NEWS: Founder Apologizes to and

The Founder of The ICT University, Prof. , has issued a formal apology to the University of Buea ( ) and its Vice-Chancellor, Prof. , following controversial remarks made in a recent viral TV interview.

Prof. Mbarika clarified that his previous brash words and accusations were influenced by a difficult emotional state, as the interview took place just hours after he buried his grandmother.

The Apology:
“What I did conveyed frustration rather than the spirit of respect and collaboration that I hold so dear. I have nothing but great admiration for the University of Buea—a university that I highly value,” stated the award-winning Professor.

He further addressed the Vice-Chancellor directly:
“I also have a lot of respect for Professor Horace Ngomo Manga, the Vice Chancellor of this great institution. To him goes my first apology. I am sorry for some of the words I used. My comments should never have cast doubt on any respect I have for you in any way. No human being I know in this world is perfect—not me.”

This move highlights a step toward reconciliation within ’s sector and community.

DON'T GET CONFUSED

According to ;
The documents below outline the sequence of events in what can now be called a university saga.

I - 26 April 2025 : Suspension of admissions and training for Doctorate Programs without due authorisation (Addressed to ICT-U by MINESUP)

II - 16 October 2025 : Vice-Chancellor and Registrar of the University of Buea: Key Internal Enemies of
Diaspora Contributions to Nation-Building in Cameroon. (A fake letter to the Prime Ministry purported to be written by the ICT-U)

III - 20 February 2026 : Official Disclaimer- Communiqué Issued Following The Extraordinary Joint Session of The Board of Trustees And The Senate of The ICT University. (This disclaimer debunked the letter of 16 October 2025 above.)

IV - 23 February 2026 : Official Statement from the Minister of State, Minister of Higher Education on accusations from the ICT University against the Higher Education System. (MINESUP surely based their reaction on the letter which ICT-U debunked on 20 February 2026.)

V - 24 February 2026 : Public Notice. University of Buea - ICT University Saga : A Rebuttal. (This letter from UB was out a day before Prof. Victor Mbarika went on air.)

VI - 26 February 2026 : Upon arrival to Cameroon, My Media Prime TV promptly rushed to interview Professor Victor Mbarika, to get his reactions on the public notice issued by UB the previous day.

My Comment : I did this post to guide public opinion on the chronological sequence of events in the UB vs ICT-U saga. I noticed that many are getting confused about the actions that triggered certain reactions.

It's unfortunate that MINESUP's arbitration was bypassed. After the Minister of Higher Education ruled on this issue, we expected calm, but ALAS!
