Should the younger in the gospel correct the older? Let's see argument below 👇👇
To bigen with, we must understand the essence of correction and rebuke based on scriptures. Correction is of God. The essence is to guide our walk with God. 2tim 3:16,17 All scriptures is given by the inspiration of God and It is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.
The above bible passage shows us we can only stand right with God by using the yardstick of measurement which is the Bible. God has asked us to rebuke sin and bring correction in the church or the body of Christ, this ministry of rebuke is not for particular people but for everyone who is in light. Anyone who is in light (filled with the spirit of God and understands the things of God) can do it. Sin is no man's friend, and we all must be on the save side, it doesn't matter who God sends to you. What matters is doing the right thing in a right way.
2Tim 4:2 says "preach the word, be prepared in and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage...
If we want to stay in context we may say it was Paul writing to Timothy on how to lead a particular church. But this is a pastoral letter teaching every servant of God on how to manage their churches and the body of Christ as a hold. The question is, if there was a higher authority than Timothy in the church he was leading. Will he still rebuke them if they make a mistake?
I think rebuke or correction is and order from God and not from man, if we want to stay true to ourselves and obey the word of God then we must humble ourselves to listen to anyone as to learn from as long as we are in the body.
Second thing I want us to look at as concerning rebuke is the case of David in the Bible. We know David was a king and a priest. Therefore he was elevated to a higher statue In his society. But he made a mistake and sined against God. He was still fine with the sin until someone told him the truth. God sent Nathan to rebuke him of his sin 2sam 12:1-10. We must take not that Nathan did not come with disrespect and threw the sin on David's face. He rather used a respectful and wisdom like approach to deliver his message from God. And so, I think what should be discussed on concerning this is the manner of approach. You can't just batch into your father of Faith to correct or rebuke. Use a polite means to table the matter.
Don't be arrogant in pointing someone's wrong to them because God sent you. He sent you but he didn't asked you to be arrogant. You can be polite and deliver your message in a wisdom way.
Bible says we should correct each other in love and be gentle to them. Gal 6:1
We must understand that no one is perfect, everyone can fall. Correction is of God and not of man. If I came to you as a younger person to point out your wrong. It is due to the love I have for you and because God sent me. And I must align with scriptures. I'm saving a soul and not proving a point. It's left for you to be humble and receive God's counsel even from a donkey.
When the Sons of Eli where sinning, God sent a younger servant who was sound and who was not sharing in the sin of Eli's household to deliver the message to Eli.
Furthermore, the word of God says in Ezekiel 3:18, when I say to a wicked person you will surely die and you did not warn them or speak out to them to dissuade them from their evil way in order to save their life. That wicked person will die for their sin and their blood will come on you.
In my conclusion, I will like to say from my own observation going through scriptures and admittance that correction and rebuke can come from anyways and based on the strong and very high authority of the Scripture. So in essence it wasn't me saying anything but God just using me to speak to the elder who has made a mistake.
