What day is it today?

Love your pet day. 🐾
People in China are a bit funny about their pets. They want them to be cute and beautiful. Not many people have stray cats/dogs. You see many pure breed dogs here.
They buy clothes for them, shoes, some owners even dye their pets fur! 😮 Unfortunately many people here are scared of dogs. They won’t get into the elevator with me and my dog (my dog which doesn’t bark or bite), and they will even leave the elevator when I get in, and scream, and run away. Yes, run away! 🤭😂I always find it very funny!

Today we added a new function for our customers in China.

Now all products/services can be seen on channels. 🤩 Now we don’t need to send catalogs and QR codes, all products are visible right away and we can also reach new customers if we post cool videos there. This function can easily generate new leads and sales for all of our customers as the same products can be pinned to multiple accounts at once!
You should also consider this way of advertising as a part of your marketing strategy. 😉 It increases your visibility but it’s also a powerful tool to increase your e-reputation. Social networks are very effective and decisive in China.
Chinese consumers like to follow brands and communicate with their representatives. So using this new function on your personal account and communicating with consumers is indeed mandatory if you want to succeed in China. By creating a relationship with your consumers, they will be more likely to buy your products and share their opinion on platforms like Zhihu (知乎).

Is there Valentine's day in China?

Yes, they do.....multiple times a year!
Let's start from the beginning. China has two calendars; lunar calendar and our calendar which is Gregorian calendar.

If you ask Chinese person a question when is your birthday? They will be a bit confused about the answer. Because simply they don't know which calendar they should use as an answer. Most of them will tell you their birthday in both calendars.

Except for 14.02, there are other Valentine's days in China here are some others.

2. Lantern or Yuanxiao Festival: (15th day of the Chinese New Year)
3. Shangsi Festival (3rd day of the third lunar month)
4. White Valentine’s Day (March 14)
5. Wǔ-èr ling (meaning five-two-zero – May 20, because the sound of that date is similar to the sound 'woaini' which means I love you. ♥️
6. Qi Xi Festival: (7th of 7th lunar month)

Some people think Valentine's is overrated because we should celebrate love/our partner every day of the year.
But I quite disagree. It's like saying birthdays are overrated because we should celebrate the person every day. Well we should but we don't, do we? What do you think? Valentine's Day yay or nay?

My favourite part of running this awesome business is working with incredible people. MEET Kseniya Koshpanova. 🤩

I met Kseniya before I started my business.
One day I found kittens outside of my apartment. I was trying to find home for them all and that's how I met Kseniya. One of the kittens lives with her now.

Kseniya does incredible work! She's a professional graphic designer and she's really good at it. 😍 Graphic design isn't easy. When you create something it could be a 'yes' a 'no' or a 'wow'.
And how to make it 'wow'? Well, I don't know...but Kseniya does.

B2B Marketing in the world’s most digitalized country.

Traditional B2B marketing (business to business - which means one business is making a transaction with another business.) of going to endless events to build those direct and in person connections is reliable and successful for all around the world. 🌎

It is no different in China! 🇨🇳 Expos, and events are a great opportunity to meet other businesses and make guanxi (connections) but for China – the world’s most digitalized country, digital marketing should be taken advantage of more!

Did you know that China has about 855M internet users. That's more than India and the US combined! 😯 Chinese Internet users spend close to 4 hours daily online!
In the era of mobile phones 📱 there has been a significant change in how people use social media (more than 90% of internet users in China are mobile phone internet users). Which is altering both the way people live and how business is done. More than half of the Chinese population are digital buyers.

5 things you need to understand if you want to be successful in this country:

1) Knowing what the current trend is in China.
2) The behaviours of the Chinese audience across all the different social media platforms.
3) How different business culture, norms and values influence the market and social media.
4) Branding needs to stand out.
5) Social media engagement will make a big difference.

In simple terms, you need a customized B2B marketing strategy with digital channels that cater specifically to the market within China.

Starbucks in China is quite an experience. 😆
Did you know???🤔….
- Most Starbucks coffee shops have a double door? 🤷‍♀️
- You need to measure your temperature when you enter.
- You need to scan a code and show you’re healthy.
- You need to ask them for a mug. If you don’t you will get a paper cup. 😢

What is Momentum? Our vision and mission.

If our company had a name, like a human name….I think we would call it ‘innovative’ as our first name and ‘affordable’ as our second name.😎
We are a rather small company…and we cooperate with other small companies!🙃 So the price is a biggie for us! It has to be as low as possible for the best quality possible.
Also sometimes adapting foreign products to the Chinese market can be tricky and here our innovative and creative side comes in handy…lucky you! The creative freedom and customer satisfaction are the biggest drives in our daily work.

Our vision is to have a company that has an impact on people's lives. And I mean we do that. Because selling products in China without being here is (I think🤨) impossible. We’re here for you!🤛
