With such a huge international act like , Entertainment is expected to make their next big move to enter the US market. By making a deal with a major US label like the Group, Big Hit is sure going to extend their business in the US, but it is also a chance for to explore the and market even further. I have always think that the social media strategies used by artists and companies are wise. Online fan communities like used by Big Hit and other artists provide platforms for fans to have closer connection with their favourite artists by writing to and receiving letters from their idols online. Maintaining good artist-fan relationship using social media is one of the key to K-Pop's success worldwide. I believe UMG artists, or even American artists, would start to see the benefits of having a fan-exclusive community to communicate with fans, leading to even greater success.

Last summer, I interned at a education organization as an assistant project manager. I took part in planning, organizing and coordinating two summer camps for students. The first one was to teach them drama and let them hold a charity drama performance at the end of the camp to raise money for children with AIDS. The second one was for the students to do volunteer teaching in remote areas of China. In this process, I learned a lot about how to negotiate and communicate with people effectively so that I could collaborate and make good deals with them. In 2015, I founded the charity project "Hear The Love" with my friends from school aiming to help left-behind children in China, and we carried it on until 2018. There are many children in China whose parents are working far from home and come back home rarely, and those children are very lonely. We think of the idea of giving the children teddy bears with recording devices inside with the recordings of their parents so that they could feel as if their parents are with them. In order to raise money to produce these teddy bears, we organized two fund raising events in shopping malls. We did flash mob, and we also sold some hand-made cookies. At the end, we raised 16,000 RMB for the project, and gave out 106 teddy bears with their parents' recordings to left-behind children in Yangchun, China. Our team was awarded one of the "Ten Most Beautiful Neighborhoods in Guangdong" in 2015 by Southern Metropolis Daily.

(哔哩哔哩) would be the most popular video sharing platform among the younger generation in right now. It has features similar to YouTube, but it started as a ACG-themed (animation, comic, game) platform like Niconico from Japan in 2010, where people could share and watch ACG related videos on it. Until this day, Bilibili has evolved into a huge platfrom with videos ranging from music to life style upload by users.

One of the special things about Bilibili is that when you are watching a video, you can send "danmu" (弹幕), which is real-time comment scrolling on the video, to express your thoughts and communicate with other viewers. In this way, watching videos in Bilibili could make users feel like they are watching with other viewers, creating the feeling of a . Users could also use "tags" for their videos so people who follow or search for those tags could be able to find those videos.

For me, I actually have my own channel on Bilibili. I usually upload English videos with Chinese subtitles, edits of my favourite dramas, and mashups all created by myself. Until this day, my channel has over 119k views, with I consider as a proud accomplishment. Based on my own experience, good ways to attract viewers would be to create eye-catching title and cover for your video and use popular tags.

Nowadays, more and more overseas stars and influencers started their own Bilibili channels in order to reach their fans in China. It would also be good for brands to create their channels to release ad campaigns or other interesting related contents in order to attract customers in China. If your target audience is in China, Bilibili would be a social media platform you could not miss.

Throwback to summer 2019, when I went back to work in my High school - Nansha College Preparatory Academy as a coordinator and teaching assistant. Everyday I worked with my team members and teachers to develop and plan classes and activities for students. Working with teachers and students made me grow a lot as a Negotiator, Collaborator, Planner, and Achiever, just as our school's name NCPA suggests. I believe the ability to negotiate, collaborate and communicate with others is essential and useful for me as a student and future worker in Media & Communications.

Weibo was launched by Sina Corporation in 2009, and it has over 500 million monthly active users as of 2020. It is a micorblog platform with similar features as Twitter, where users could share micorblogs (with a much higher word limit) and use hashtags to engage in conversations.

What makes Weibo special is that it has a feature called "super topic", which evolves from hashtags. A hashtag in Weibo is called a "topic", and fans of that topic could apply for it to become a "super topic", which is like a tiny community fans could join by following it and post related contents to communicate with each other. You could only post in a super topic if you follow it, and you would gain a title and a level for being a fan of this topic. Being active, engaging in conversations, and interacting with other fans in the super topic could raise your level in it. Comparing to Twitter, this feature gives Weibo users more feelings of belonging since people could actually join exclusive communities with others who share the same interests.

As one of the most popular social media, TikTok has around 800 million active users worldwide with as of 2020. It is actually the international version of Douyin (抖音) created by Chinese tech company Bytedance, showing the power and importance place of China in the industry of social media. This platform full of short videos is especially popular among the youths, and it is very addictive because when you start watching videos on it, you won’t stop.

The main reason why TikTok is so addictive is that it devoted large amount of money and resources in developing and advancing its recommendation algorithm. The platform collects and analyzes user information and actions in order to select the video appearing next especially for you to keep you watching. Actually, many social media like Facebook and Twitter also uses this kind of algorithm to curate your feed in order to make you spend more time on them.
