For this design, we paired a bold navy-and-stone canopy with a natural cork handle—light in the hand, comfortable to hold and easy to recognise.

So a French designer friend came to me a few months back and said something that stuck with me.

"Why the hell does it take so long to close an umbrella? Every time I get to my front door on a rainy day, I get completely soaked just trying to pull the damn thing shut. Fix this."

Honestly he was right. We’ve all just accepted that 3-second splash of rain at the doorway as part of life.

So my team tried to fix it. Turns out making an umbrella close in under 1 second without snapping your wrist or jamming the mechanism is way harder than it sounds. We broke a LOT of prototypes.

Took us way longer than expected, but we finally got it to work. 1 second, one click, done. You’re inside and completely dry.

Just got me thinking—how many other little annoying things do we deal with every day just because "that's how it's always been"?

How Is an Umbrella Frame Made? ☂️
A strong umbrella starts with a strong frame.
From raw materials to the finished structure, the process includes:
Material selection → Cutting & forming → Rib assembly → Riveting → Surface treatment → Testing.
Steel, fiberglass, aluminum and carbon fiber all behave differently.
But stronger doesn't simply mean thicker or heavier.
The real challenge is finding the right balance between strength, flexibility and weight.
That’s where experience in umbrella manufacturing matters.

Not every new umbrella is worth talking about.

Most of them are just another colour, another handle or another frame.

This one was different.

A customer who specialises in sun protection asked us a simple question:

"Can carbon fibre work with titanium silver fabric?"

Honestly, we weren't sure until we built it.

Carbon fibre makes an umbrella incredibly light without sacrificing strength.

Titanium silver fabric does a great job reflecting heat and blocking UV.

Putting the two together took quite a few rounds of testing, but the first finished sample immediately felt different.

It's large enough to create real shade.

Strong enough for everyday outdoor use.

Light enough that you don't mind carrying it.

That's the kind of product we enjoy making—not because it's expensive, but because it solves a real problem.

If you're building an outdoor, golf or travel brand, don't settle for another catalogue umbrella with your logo printed on it.

Build something people actually want to keep.

That's always a better advertisement.

Nobody buys an umbrella thinking about fabric cutting…

But here we are 😄

Traditional umbrella fabric cutting is usually done by hand:
