Meet Gabriel S. P. Koon who is an emerging economist, educational advocate, and youth leader whose academic, professional, and community service experiences reflect a strong commitment to leadership, sustainable development, and human capacity building.

Gabriel earned his Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Accounting from the African Methodist Episcopal University (AMEU) in Monrovia, Liberia. Throughout his academic and professional journey, he has continuously invested in personal and career development by obtaining various certifications in leadership development, Microsoft applications, and future-focused professional skills, demonstrating a dedication to lifelong learning and excellence.

In June 2026, Gabriel successfully completed his Master of Industrial Economics at Anhui Polytechnic University, China. His master's research, titled “The Impact of Digital Technology Adoption on Agricultural Productivity: Evidence from West African Countries,” examined how digital innovation can enhance agricultural efficiency, promote economic growth, and support sustainable development across the West African region. His studies in China provided him with valuable international exposure, strengthened his understanding of global economic systems, and enriched his appreciation for cross-cultural collaboration and academic exchange.

Beyond academics, Gabriel has established himself as a dedicated student leader and community builder. He served as the President of the Liberian Students Association in Wuhu City at Anhui Polytechnic University, where he worked to promote unity, welfare, and representation among Liberian students. He also served as the Secretary General of the Chaplaincy of the Liberian Student Union in China, helping coordinate spiritual programs and initiatives that strengthened fellowship and support among students abroad.

His leadership has extended beyond formal positions. Gabriel has successfully organized Christian fellowship activities, community engagement programs, and a memorable semester-end dinner that fostered friendship, cultural exchange, and solidarity among international students. His ability to bring people together reflects his passion for service, collaboration, and inclusive leadership.

On the international development front, Gabriel serves as the Executive Vice President of The African Passion International, an organization committed to advancing United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 4 (Quality Education). Through this role, he contributes to initiatives that promote equitable access to education, youth empowerment, leadership development, and capacity-building opportunities across Africa.

Gabriel’s educational foundation began at Carver Mission Academy, where he graduated in 2016. During his time there, he was affectionately known by the class nickname “AMARIS,” a name meaning “Given by God.” The name has remained a meaningful reflection of his values, faith, and purpose-driven approach to life and service.

Today, Gabriel stands as a young professional whose profile uniquely combines academic achievement, economic research, international experience, educational advocacy, and transformational leadership. Guided by faith, integrity, and a passion for empowering others, he continues to pursue opportunities that contribute to sustainable development, educational advancement, and positive social change both in Liberia and across the global community.

Continue making Liberia(his home) and your family proud.

From Peking University to Shaping China-West Africa Trade! 🥇📢

Veteran Yunus I. Hinawy took his knowledge from Peking University straight to the heart of China-Africa investment!

At the CISG Cross-border Trade & Investment Seminar, Yunus delivered bold insights on West Africa's $700B economy, growing opportunities in infrastructure, mining, and renewable energy, and how Chinese investors can move smarter and safer.

He advised Chinese investors to research thoroughly, hire local talent, use regional trade zones, and secure political risk insurance for long-term success.

Holding a BSc in Economics and MBA in Corporate Strategy (Peking University), Yunus co-founded FinAgTech Consults Liberia and owns Yu's Grooming and Beauty Parlor in Beijing, proving that Chinese-trained African scholars are making a powerful mark globally and inspiring students studying in China today.

The Photograph That Wasn’t His
Continue!!

Episode 2: The Waiting

The clock tower stood exactly where the photograph had promised.
Old. Weathered. Quietly holding onto time in a city that had mostly moved on without it.
Arjun arrived earlier than he needed to.
He told himself it was just to be sure he found the place.

But even he didn’t fully believe that.
The area around the tower was calm. A few people passed by occasionally, but no one lingered. No one paid attention to the tower itself anymore.
It had become part of the background.
Like something people stopped noticing over time.

Arjun checked his watch.
4:42 PM.
Too early.
He walked around the base of the tower, observing small details—the cracks in the stone, the faded markings, the way shadows stretched slowly as the sun began to lower.
He felt… strange.
Like he had stepped into something that didn’t fully belong to him.
A story already in progress.
4:55 PM.

His chest tightened slightly.
“This is stupid,” he whispered.
Of course no one would come.
This photograph was old.
Whoever wrote that message… was probably long gone.
Or had forgotten.
Or had never come in the first place.
5:00 PM.

The clock chimed.
Once.
Twice.
Three times.
The sound echoed softly through the air.
Arjun looked around.
Nothing.
No one.
He exhaled slowly, shaking his head.
“Yeah… makes sense.”
He turned slightly, ready to leave.

Then—
Footsteps.
Soft.
Measured.
He froze.
The sound came from behind him.
He turned.
And there she was.
Standing a few steps away.
Not the same girl from the photograph.
But—
Something about her felt… connected.
She looked at him with quiet curiosity.

Not surprised.
Not confused.
Just… aware.
“You found it,” she said softly.
Arjun blinked.
“…Found what?”
Her eyes shifted briefly toward his pocket.
Where the photograph rested.
Then back to his face.
“The photograph,” she said.
His heart skipped.

“How do you—”
“You came,” she interrupted gently.
He stared at her.
The air between them felt suddenly heavier.
“I… I don’t understand,” he said.
She took a small step closer.
“You weren’t supposed to,” she replied.
Silence stretched between them.
Then she added—
“But you still did.”

Arjun swallowed.
His mind raced.
Questions. Too many questions.
“Who are you?” he asked.
She didn’t answer immediately.
Instead, she looked up at the clock tower.
As if measuring time.
Then she said something that made everything feel even more uncertain—
“You’re not the first person to come here.”
Arjun’s brows pulled together.
“…What?”

She met his eyes again.
“But you might be the first one who actually stayed.”
A quiet pause.
Then—
“You should open it.”
Arjun frowned.
“Open what?”
Her gaze dropped again—to his pocket.
The photograph.
His hand moved instinctively.
He pulled it out.
Looked at it.
Nothing had changed.

Same image.
Same writing.
“I’ve already seen it,” he said.
She shook her head slowly.
“Not completely.”
A chill moved through him.
“What do you mean?”
She didn’t answer.
Instead, she took a step back.
“Look again,” she said.
Then she turned…
And began to walk away.
“Wait—” Arjun called out.
But she didn’t stop.
Didn’t turn.

Didn’t explain.
Within seconds, she disappeared into the quiet streets beyond the tower.
Arjun stood there.
Alone.
Again.
But this time… it didn’t feel the same.
His eyes dropped slowly to the photograph in his hand.
And for the first time—
He noticed something he hadn’t before.

The Photograph That Wasn’t His”

Episode 1: The Stranger’s Find

It started with something that didn’t belong to him.
Arjun hadn’t planned to spend the morning cleaning.
But sometimes, quiet days force you into places you’ve been avoiding.
His grandfather’s study had been closed for months.

Not locked.
Just… untouched.
The kind of room that still held someone’s presence long after they were gone. Books arranged the same way. Glasses left on the table. A chair slightly pulled out, as if someone had just stood up and would return at any moment.

But no one ever did.
Arjun stood at the doorway for a while before stepping in.
The air felt different inside—thicker, filled with the faint scent of old paper and time. Dust had settled over everything, softening edges, muting colors.

He walked slowly toward the shelves.
His fingers traced along the spines of books he had seen his grandfather read countless times. History, poetry, letters—always letters.
His grandfather had believed in keeping memories… in physical form.
“Digital things disappear too easily,” he used to say.

Arjun never really understood that.
Until now.
He pulled out a stack of old notebooks from the lower shelf. Some were worn, others barely touched. As he shifted them aside, something small slipped out from behind.
An envelope.
Old. Slightly yellowed at the edges.
He frowned.
It hadn’t been there before. Or maybe it had, just unnoticed.
He picked it up.
There was no name written on it.
No address.

Just a single line, written in faded ink:
“For the one who understands without knowing.”
Arjun stared at it.
“That’s… specific,” he muttered under his breath.
For a moment, he considered putting it back.
It wasn’t his.
It clearly belonged to someone else—someone his grandfather had intended it for.
But something about that sentence…
It felt like it was waiting.
He turned the envelope over in his hands.
Then, slowly, opened it.

Inside… was a photograph.
Black and white.
Slightly worn at the corners.
He held it carefully, as if it might fall apart.
It showed a girl.
Standing near what looked like an old railway platform.
Her hair was braided, falling neatly over one shoulder. She wore a simple dress and held a book close to her chest. Her gaze wasn’t toward the camera.
She was looking away.

As if she was waiting for something.
Or someone.
There was something about her expression.
Not sadness.
Not exactly.
But a quiet kind of patience… mixed with something deeper.
Something that made Arjun feel like he was looking at a moment that mattered.
He frowned slightly.
“I don’t know you,” he said under his breath.
But the words didn’t feel entirely true.
Because somehow…

She felt familiar.
Not in a way he could explain.
Just… familiar.
He turned the photograph over.
There was writing on the back.
Short. Uneven. As if written quickly, but carefully at the same time.
“I saw you only once.”“You didn’t know I was watching.”“But that moment stayed with me.”
Arjun’s eyes narrowed slightly as he continued reading.

“If life ever brings you to this city…”“Meet me at the old clock tower. 5 PM.”
There was a pause before the last line.
As if the writer had hesitated.
“—Someone who never had the courage to speak.”
Silence filled the room.
Arjun lowered the photograph slowly.
He glanced around the study.
At the books.
At the desk.
At the empty chair.
A thought began to form.
Was this his grandfather’s?
Had he written this?
Or… was it meant for someone else entirely?
He looked at the girl again.
Then at the time written on the back.
5 PM.

His eyes shifted toward the window.
The day was still young.
Plenty of time.
He let out a small breath, almost a quiet laugh.
“This is ridiculous,” he said.
And yet…
He slipped the photograph into his pocket.
Because deep down—
He had already decided.
