Happy Chinese New Year Everyone!

This Lunar new year is the year of the Rooster or 鸡年

People born in the year of the Rooster tend to be very observant, hardworking, resourceful courageous and talented. “Roosters” are very confident in themselves and are usually active, amusing and popular among a crowd.

Roosters are happiest when they are surrounded by others, they enjoy the spotlight and will exhibit their charm on any occasion.

Here are some lucky things for you to keep in mind if you’re a “Rooster”;

Case Study: Michelin Guide Shanghai Launch

The Michelin Guide launched in Shanghai for the first time in autumn 2016 and we had the privilege to support the digital and social launch. Since this was their first time entering the Chinese market, they needed to expand and integrate their brand awareness by utalising China targeted digital marketing in order to increase buzz and awareness.

Some Challenges we faced during the course of this project was that most of the Chinese consumer did not know the type of selection criteria used for the selection of the Michelin star restaurants or who the judges would be. Furthermore, Chinese diners did not perceive a French automotive tyre company as eligible to comment yet along judge Chinese cuisine. The Michelin Guide needed to establish brand influence within the Chinese consumers, and improve their brand awareness.

Based on the current consumer awareness of The Michelin Guide, we planned a series of social and digital campaigns to promote brand awareness and social visibility. During the Michelin Guide grand launch event, we lived streamed the event on Weibo and WeChat as well as collaborated with well-known KOLs. At the same time the introduction of APP downloads, improved the brand's exposure and dissemination impact.

The campaign lasted 45 days (September 1 - October 14 2016), there were 23,100,000 page views and 260,000 engagements across social platforms. We increased both Weibo and WeChat fans by approximately 20,000 each which exceeded all the planned KPIs.

Over all it was a great success and we are extremely proud and happy to work on such an amazing project.

So far we’ve had a packed, fun and successful month. We started off the month by driving our brand awareness and business with a booth at the Global Digital Marketing Summit (GDMS), a marketing strategy conference. We then jet stetted off to our annual team building outing which took place in Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia.

WHAT’S HAPPENING IN THE INNOMATIVE CREATIVE LAB?

At INNOMATIVE we have what we call a “creative lab” where everyone in the office can join in. The idea behind the creative lab is to allow our staff to have a space to discover new ways of using creative technology. This space also allows us to pinpoint, improve and create new ways of delivering solutions for our clients. This enables us to continue to strive to be ahead of our competitors and stand out in our creative data and digital marketing solutions.

Meet Ben our Software Developer who’s been experimenting in the creative lab this month, here’s what he has to say about what he’s been working on in the creative lab…

Gaze tracking, more commonly known as eye tracking, allows for a person’s eye movement across a screen to be accurately measured in real time. For most of recent history, eye tracking has been limited to research use in academia, but thanks to recent advancements in computer hardware, a number of commercially available eye tracking devices have found their way to the marketplace.

Advertising and marketing presents many special use cases for computerized eye tracking. Visual heat maps of advertisements, or anything presented to a user on screen, can quickly be constructed to show exactly how a person would go about visually processing what is placed before them. This information is important in measuring the effectiveness of graphical items. Though, perhaps the most exciting use of eye tracking technology in marketing is in the form of interactive displays.

Once a customer is in a fixed position where their gaze can be tracked, they can use their eyes to activate different portions of a computerized display. This could range from triggering graphical events (changing text color, image sizes, and image placement) to a fully fledged user interface controlled by the customer’s eyes.

We have specifically focused our research on constructing examples of these interactive display elements. These include things like simple games, text that reacts to being read word by word, drag and drop items, and the ability to draw pictures simply with a user’s gaze.

Though eye tracking technology may be in it’s commercial infancy, it’s creative uses in marketing are evident and mostly untapped and are, without a doubt, worth keeping an eye on.

Reuter Communications and INNOMATIVE have established a strategic alliance to offer a proprietary data solutions product to premium and luxury brands in Greater China.

The alliance will see Reuter Communications to integrate INNOMATIVE’s data and digital capabilities into its clients’ solutions, while INNOMATIVE will have full access to the marketing and communications capabilities that Reuter Communications offers to luxury and premium clients.

The two also team up to provide EYWA, a digital marketing solution, allowing brands to manage and oversee all their online customers’ interactions, conduct business analytics and create highly automated and efficient communications campaigns.
