No es nuestra responsabilidad detener la violencia perpetrada contra nosotros! Dada la ausencia de las entidades a las que les corresponde el resguardo de la seguridad en general y especialmente en una zona de alto nivel delictivo (lease: hurto, robo a mano armada, violaciones, violencia doméstica) aunada a la violencia institucional en Costa Rica pone a todas en riesgo de ser victimizados, especialmente a mujeres y niñas. If I would have waited to start taking pictures until I was perfect, I would still be waiting.

I am very much still learning and has been so kind and open to giving me opportunities to practice my craft. These photos were taken almost a year ago for who have also supported me in my growth.

How can WE create healthy content???

Facebook has done extensive internal research that suggests Instagram makes body image issues worse for teenage girls. 😟

32% of young girls said when they feel bad about their bodies, Instagram made them feel worse. So as women, as creators of content, how do we combat this very real problem? 🤔

I don’t have all the answers, but I do know I don’t want to contribute to the epidemic of mental health problems amongst young girls. As a women, and mother of a sweet little girl I am committed to learning more and creating body positive content. I never photoshop my images, I do not use filters on my images, and I strive to be inclusive when collaborating with models. Natural beauty should be celebrated, our purpose is not perfection.

I honestly don’t know how I feel about social media as a whole and it’s a dilema because I have built a entire business around it. I want to focus my camera on the beauty in our imperfections, the beauty in our diversity, never creating a false image of unattainable perfectness.

Thank you for being your truest self and allowing me to share some realness, goofiness, happiness, and your inner light. We must be true to ourselves and our own style of creation. That’s what I feel these photos represent.

Dragonflies are underrated. 🐉

I believe these are dragonflies and not damselflies? Anybody know? Either way, they don’t get the recognition they deserve. Cool eyes, right?

My research indicates that the position of the wings is how we differentiate between Dragonflies and Damselflies. Dragonflies leave their wings open when they land and Damselflies close their wings up when they land. 🤷🏼‍♀️. Have a good day.
