🤝 The Danube Competence Center brought together representatives of several Interreg Danube Region projects to exchange ideas, share experiences, and explore opportunities for future cooperation. Organized as part of the Danube Woods Route project, the meeting created a platform for networking between initiatives focused on sustainable tourism, cultural heritage, active mobility, and regional development. By strengthening connections between projects, the event aims to maximize the long-term impact of EU-funded initiatives and encourage new joint actions across the Danube region. 👉

On 25 and 26 June, Belgrade welcomed partners, project representatives and institutional stakeholders from across the Danube Region for two days dedicated to cooperation, knowledge exchange and the future of cultural tourism.

🧰 A new A2PT Toolbox for better first- and last-mile mobility is now available, offering practical guidance to help cities, regions, transport operators, and planners create seamless connections between walking, cycling, and public transport. Built on experiences from pilot actions and good practices across the Danube region, the toolbox provides concrete solutions for bike parking, station accessibility, multimodal hubs, integrated services, and user-friendly mobility systems. By turning tested ideas into transferable knowledge, Active2PublicTransport is helping make sustainable, car-free travel a realistic choice for everyday mobility and tourism alike. 👉

Public transport does not begin at the stop. It begins with the walk to the station, the bike ride to a mobility hub, and the ease of moving from one part of the journey to the next.

🏛️🍷 The project reached its grand finale in Ljubuški, Bosnia and Herzegovina, bringing together partners and stakeholders from across the Danube region to celebrate more than two years of cooperation dedicated to Roman heritage, wine culture, and sustainable tourism. The final conference provided an opportunity to present key achievements, exchange experiences, and discuss how the project’s results—from new tourism products and green itineraries to stakeholder networks and innovative destination management tools—will continue to create value long after the official end of the project. 👉
