"Can you craft our brand values?"

I recently had a meeting with a local brand that is experiencing rapid growth and has begun expanding its operations to other countries. Their foremost challenge now lies in establishing scalable structures and effectively communicating these frameworks across all their operations.

During our discussions about their future plans, the CEO inquired:

"Can you create our brand values? It seems that by defining them and putting them in writing, we can lay the foundation to embark on our chosen path."

In response, I stated:

"Well, I cannot directly write down your brand values. However, what I can offer is to facilitate a deep understanding of your current values, establish goals for where you want the business to go, and assist you in navigating your brand toward a successful future."

Brand values transcend more than words on paper; they serve as the guiding compass for an entire company.

They constitute the foundational bedrock upon which a thriving culture, unwavering customer loyalty, and sustainable growth are built. 💪

The business owner expressed gratitude. "we will be in touch!" - he said, with a warm smirking gaze.

I confess. I used to be an Adman. 🙈

I loved the pitch and the slogan and the media plan. I still catch myself into ridiculous puns and catchy phrases that make me want to self-high five.

But the truth is...slogans and media plans are just 8% of what marketing does.

We got used to connecting marketing with promotion, where the real essence of marketing is understanding where we stand in the minds of our target audience and being able to build a solid business case that will drive measurable and impactful growth into the future.
