Hi there π
Friends, it's important for us to enrich our knowledge, so we read a lot and are constantly learning more information. Today we decided to briefly tell you how things are in e-commerce. Read what we've got below.
π Shoppers are mobile-first
It's a fact: The vast majority of shoppers (about 68%) use their cell phones to shop. By the way, the percentage of those who shop online with a smartphone is even higher among Generation Z and Millennials - almost 79%.
π Shoppers make online purchases in all product categories
Leading categories include apparel (42%), home goods (42%) and food (34%). But consumer trust is expected to play a big role in the growth of online shopping in emerging categories.
π Shopping decisions are made through several touchpoints
44% of shoppers said the first way they search for new products is online, followed by the retailer's website.
Because shoppers are active on multiple channels, advertisers can influence buying decisions in a variety of ways. Creating multiple points of contact with customers provides the best results for increased awareness, engagement and, ultimately, purchase.
π Video influences
45% of consumers agreed that video ads helped them better understand the product, and 42% were more likely to purchase a product if it was accompanied by a video ad.
π Shoppers prefer user-generated content (UGC)
Consumers prefer to see content from people who have tried the product, as opposed to content created by a brand.
π Short-form content takes precedence
Shoppers have short attention spans, and they tend to get the information they need quickly. This is evidenced by the rise in popularity of short-form video content seen on TikTok, Snapchat, Instagram Reels and Instagram Stories, to name just a few examples.
