This is the workshop I wish more founders & business owners attended before branding cost them time, money, and clarity.

Over the past days, I have been talking about what happens when branding is treated as cheap, fast, or considered “easy.”

The reality?
Those decisions don’t fail immediately, they fail over time.

So here it is.

Cheap, unintentional branding always shows up later as expensive, long-term problems.

Not immediately.
Not loudly.

But consistently.
Through decisions that quietly cost more over time.

They show up as:
• A brand that blends in instead of standing out
• Unclear positioning and mixed messaging
• A brand that isn’t ready to be protected as it grows
• Constant redesigns and refreshes
• Decisions driven by guesswork instead of strategic clarity
• An identity that isn’t flexible, scalable, or functional

🚫Branding was never meant to be a quick fix.🚫

Somewhere along the way, branding became something to get done quickly and affordably, instead of something to build strategically.

Templates, DIY & AI tools, and quick branding solutions made branding look easy while quietly stripping away its real value.

This is the exact conversation I will be opening up in my upcoming workshop 31.1.26 with CIWOT in Limassol around strategic branding and building intentional brands that are ready to grow and be protected.

💡 A key focus of my talk was the critical distinction between merely having a “logo” and building a distinctive brand identity.

I had the honor of presenting alongside Marios Kyriakou the transformative branding identity journey of Darefore at the CYENS Centre of Excellence.

Our presentation traced Darefore's evolution from its early stages in a research lab to a formidable presence in a highly competitive market.

I emphasized the importance of including from the early stages of the branding process to protect valuable brand assets such as your brand name, and logo. ​

The seminar provided a platform for professionals to emphasize to research staff and attendees the critical role of communication and visual imagery in today’s world.

This journey taught me that some will belittle rather than uplift due to their insecurities and lack of empathy. Having a supportive system is a blessing, but it is equally empowering to know you can forge ahead even without one.

It may be a tougher road, but it's still achievable.

Overcoming skepticism and naysayers is not just about proving them wrong but also about believing in oneself.

Reflecting on an incredible experience at the Forum - 10' Design Talk at Frederick University!

I spoke about the significant role of strategic branding and the creation of distinctive brand assets that can be legally protected.
I showcased the transformational Brand Identity journey of Smart Cyclo a technology startup that successfully registered its logo as a trademark.

The energy in the conference room was palpable, and it was fantastic to connect with so many diverse creative minds.

A heartfelt shoutout to the incredible organizer , for bringing this creative event to life!

🚀🐦 🤔 Elon Musk's Overnight Rebranding: A Bold Move or a Blunder?

Elon Musk recently surprised everyone with an “overnight rebranding” of Twitter to 'X'. But was it a masterstroke or a reckless move?

💡 or REBRANDING involves months of careful planning and design expertise, but Musk took a different approach. He crowdsourced the logo and implemented it immediately, disregarding the rest of the brand identity.

The old Twitter logo was meticulously designed, with a carefully constructed bird symbolizing the platform's essence. It was chosen from 24 sketches and based on 15 overlapping circles to ensure the curves were completely perfect. Now, it's replaced by two overlapping lines inspired by an online font that has previously been used as a logo.

This makes it hard for the new logo to be legally protected as it is not distinctive. Musk hints that 'X' might be a placeholder, with more changes on the horizon. You don’t use a temporary logo as a placeholder until you have a new logo.

📍 Those are convulsive movements and make the whole “rebranding” process hasty and thoughtless.
When you want to rebrand and make radical changes you don’t change the logo while keeping visual elements of the past visual identity. You take into consideration other important aspects such as IP, brand protection, and crafting a brand strategy that will help later on in creating a substantial brand identity.

While this move is generating buzz, will the sudden rebrand will stand the test of time? Was this a brilliant strategy, or a hasty decision that will be regretted? 💬👇
