Well the weather took a turn but did not stop us getting out on Friday We went for a run in the rain 7.41 miles. not many people out and about apart from us 2 crazy people. Pushing further than before. Then an afternoon of chilling and card games to rest up.

Saturday the weather was brighter, starting the morning slowly with breakfast and a good workout in the gym. In the afternoon we caught the bus towards the airport and walked the coast back to our hotel 6.23 miles stopping for an ice-cream on the way. Some big waves crashing and debris thrown up but much brighter.

A quieter day today, with a nice lay in and down for breakfast at a reasonable time, got ready for a day of hiking and jumped on the bus heading up to the Aphrodite Nature Trail. A 4.85 mile hike up and over the cliffs and back down around the coast. With a drizzle of rain and mud on our shoes making a great day out sight seeing.
Stopping at the Baths of Aphrodite which was not that impressive. Then headed back on the buses to warm up after being rained on all day.
Lovely evening dinner and a few games of cards.

Another day full of fun and activities.
Another morning run this time a little further than the last 5.75 miles.
Back for breakfast and to recover a little.
In the afternoon we took a trip up to the next town and took a walk along the coast to see a ship wreck. An enjoyable walk that turned out to be 5.19 miles.
Some great views and nice to get out.
Back in the evening for some cards and dinner before bed.
A more relaxed day tomorrow for sure.

When Helen thinks we are going for a nice break in the sun, I have other plans.
Starting our first day with a nice 5.5 mile run before breakfast, then out for a lunch time walk for 5.8 miles,
If that wasn't enough we had a good old gym session on the weights and then a nice swim in the pool to help the muscles.
Nice evening dinner and a good night's rest.
That was a tough first day and just the start to a healthy fitness week in the sun.

Time for a quick week away from all the rain in the UK. A trip to Cyprus is what we needed to start the year's fun and adventures.
After an early morning start with a drive to Stansted and a 4.5 hour flight we made it to our hotel for a week in the city of Paphos.
Even though this is their winter it's still much warmer and brighter than the rainy old England.

Day 29 - 30 Katmandu Nepal to the UK.

So last day of the adventure up early for breakfast, time to pack our bags and get ourselves sorted.
We checked out of the hotel at 11am but our flight was not until 9pm so we left our bags and ventured out in the crazy city 1 last time to make sure we had not left and shops and areas undiscovered. So many hiking shops and nik naks and as many fridge magnets you could ever want 😂 wandering the streets until we got bored we headed for lunch a classic pizza and then went to a bar to play some pool for a bit.

Time to hit the road so we went back to the hotel to collect our bags and order a taxi. The lift to the airport was only 30 minutes. Checked in and dropped our bags and headed through to departures. There is not a lot at Katmandu airport very simple but seems to work.
First flight was to Deli just over 2 hours then 1.45 hour wait for the next flight. From Deli to London 10 hour flight. All over night and with the time difference meant we tried to get as much sleep as possible.
Landed at 7am this morning, after finding a coffee and breakfast roll as we had a little wait for our bus.

Back in cold wet England, what an amazing adventure and Nepal is a very special place. Definitely a place for us to return to at some point.

Time to plan more adventures for next year!
A few more posts on the cost breakdown of our trip still to come. Thanks for following along.

Day 28 Kathmandu Nepal

We are back in the madness that is Kathmandu where the streets are crazy, people flying through the streets on mopeds and big cars getting through the narrowest places.
Staying at the bottom of the thamel area this time and a lot quieter than the last time. Down for breakfast in the hotel we are staying in and then ready for the day.
The plan shopping, let's see what bargains can be had and how many Christmas presents we can get for people along with finding the room in our bags to carry it all.
We made a list of some ideas and headed up and down looking in so many shops you get a little shopping blind. Lovely things and trinkets but finding what you are looking for is very different from the UK.
After a full day shopping we headed out for a lovely curry dinner before our last night here.

Crazy Kathmandu.

Day 27 Pokhara to Kathmandu Nepal.

This morning we packed our bags and said goodbye to Pokhara as we made our way to the bus stop nice and early. Crazy but organised is the Nepali way. Found our bus and seats and grabbed a few snacks before we made our way and 8 hour bus ride back to Kathmandu. A few stops on the way for coffee and lunch. The roads were bumpy and the traffic was crazy but we got there in 1 piece.
The bus has nice chairs and the views are always great. Got to Kathmandu bus station, this city is just manic and we hit it on rush on rush hour.
Managed to get a taxi to our hotel. Penthouse suite 😂 hotel with elevator! Composed ourselves for the afternoon and sorted out a plan for the next day. Getting refreshed and headed out for dinner to a steak house. Lovely food and game of cards to end a busy travel day.
Not so bright as Pokhara but still warm and dry.
Soon time to head home.

Day 26 Pokhara Nepal
Our last day here so no alarms and a chilled out morning before heading up to the roof top for a morning work out session, even when travelling it's important to keep healthy and not seen many gyms and running through the streets is a little crazy.
We headed down to the lakeside for some well deserved brunch before taking a nice walk around the lakes edge and stopping for a smoothie and to play some cards in the sunshine for the afternoon.
We then made our way back to our room to sort and pack everything up something that is never fun when travelling. We then headed out for the evening for our last dinner in Pokhara we headed to the moondance bar, a little fancy for where we normally go but lovely food and beautiful place and still very affordable.

A sunny bright day and a city definitely worth a visit.

Day 25 Pokhara Nepal

Still hiding out in this city, enjoying the chilled out pace, lake and mountain views each day. Still blows us away every time we see them.
Decided to take a morning hike back round the lake and up to the pagoda through the forest where the monkeys like to hang out in the trees. Always fun watching them climb around above your head.
We made it up the steep climb and steps reaching the restaurant just before the pagoda to have a lovely breakfast with a mountain view well worth the climb.
This was not our stop though another hour and many more steps up we headed over to Pumdikot Shiva Statue. How and why they put these things so high is madness. We reached the top and had a good look around enjoying the height and views all around before heading back down a slightly different way and taking a boat ride across the lake. So many people enjoy their day around the lake.
Then back to the room to shower and recover from the walk before heading down town later for some food and drinks.
So laid back here with great views and sunny weather day after day.
It's going to be hard and cold when we get back to England.

Day 24 Pokhara Nepal
A take it easy day today with a chilled morning and a stroll to town for brunch, A lovely sandwich and banana lasse a yoghurt based smoothie they have a lot here in Nepal. Then a stroll around the shops before Helen headed back to do some work for the day and I made my way to the tattoo shop.

What I thought was going to be a 4 hour tattoo turned into a 6 hour tattoo plus and hours waiting.
There is no rush in Nepal booked in for 1pm starting around 2.20.
After a long session my new tattoo was done. Not sure I could take much more and was getting hungry.
Started in the sunshine and was dark when I came out.
Very happy with it.
Helen met me at the end and had a laugh at my pain and brought some warmer clothes.
We headed out for dinner with very spicy dishes.

Another hot sunny day and only a few more left here so just enjoying the slower pace

Day 23 Pokhara, Nepal

What a lovely place this is, Pokhara is definitely a tourist town of Nepal but friendly and honest as you walk around. This area is the gateway for many different hiking areas around Nepal.

Starting off the morning slow and relaxed we headed down town for some brunch and coffee to get us going. We headed out of town for an hour's walk down to devil's fall, a waterfall which to be honest doesn't have great reviews but we went to take a look. The water has formed a tunnel approximately 500 feet long and runs 100ft below ground level it's impressive to see how the water has carved the rocks.
From there we crossed the road to Gupteshwor Mahadev Cave the water from Davis fall passes through. You walk down a set of stairs leading to the cave network and see the bottom of the waterfall and layers of rocks carved away over time.
Heading back to town looking in the shops to see what they had to offer. So many shops sell winter coats and hats as at 20'° they think it's cold here.
Back to the hotel to sort some bits then out for dinner on the lakeside found a nice little bar with music to play cards and have a few drinks to finish the day.
