Let’s talk bao buns 👀🥢

If you’ve never had one before, a bao bun is a soft, fluffy steamed bun from Chinese cuisine made with a slightly sweet dough and filled with everything from crispy chicken to pork belly, tofu, pickled veggies, spicy sauces, and more.

Safe to say… I’m obsessed.

There’s just something about the pillowy texture mixed with bold flavours that makes them SO good. These are two of my current favourites in Kelowna ⬇️

Their Crispy Chicken Bao Buns are packed with crispy chicken, Asian slaw, roasted red peppers, cucumber, sweet chili hoisin, hot aioli, sesame seeds, and micro cilantro. Bonus: they’re also on their happy hour 👏

Their Korean Fried Bao Buns come with your choice of chicken or tofu, baek-kimchi, kewpie mayo, crispy toppings, and cilantro. I love the Korean-inspired twist on them.

Hidden gem alert 👀⁠

If you’re in Kelowna, you have to check out this locally owned coffee cart tucked away on Pandosy in the Lower Mission. They’ve only been open a little over a month, but it’s already one of those spots people are going to be talking about all summer.⁠

Not only are the drinks incredible, they also offer catering for weddings, events, and private functions ✨⁠

Two drinks I’m already obsessed with:⁠

🍓 Iced Strawberry Jam Matcha⁠
Made with ceremonial-grade matcha, layered with milk and house-made strawberry preserve over ice.⁠

🤎 Iced Tiramisu Latte⁠
A chilled espresso latte with mascarpone and heavy cream, finished with notes of cocoa and vanilla.⁠

Definitely worth adding to your Kelowna coffee list ☕️⁠

A few standout spots (and repeat orders) from this month that are 100% worth trying:⁠

🍮 Cream Puffs - , Lake Country⁠
Easily some of the best I’ve had. Tried black currant + cookie dough… both amazing, but the black currant was outstanding.⁠

🥗 Ogo Sun Bowl - , Kelowna⁠
My go-to order every time. Roasted cauliflower, greens, avocado, and all the good stuff. So satisfying.⁠

🥯 Everything Bagel + Garlic & Scallion Schmear - , Kelowna⁠
One of the best cream cheeses I’ve had. Super light, almost whipped, and packed with flavour.⁠

☕️ PB + J Iced Latte - , Kelowna⁠
Been loving anything PB + J lately. This one isn’t overly sweet and just hits!⁠

🍰 Passion Fruit Bar - , Kelowna⁠
Such a standout dessert. Anything passion fruit gets me, and this one was fresh, tangy, and so good.⁠ (pictured to the left of the white kiss)⁠

Let’s talk non-negotiables ✨⁠

This has been coming up a lot lately, both in business and in my personal life. I’m realizing more and more how important it is to actually define what you’re not willing to compromise on.⁠

In business, it can look like boundaries around your time, the types of clients you take on, or how you structure your services. I’ve been really lucky to work with clients I’ve had for years now, and those relationships have naturally become built on trust, ease, and mutual respect.⁠

In life, it’s the habits, routines, and standards that keep you grounded when things get busy. There are a few new habits I’ve built over the last six months that I genuinely don’t budge on anymore unless I absolutely have to.⁠

It’s easy to say yes to everything, especially when you’re building something, but I’ve learned that being clear on your non-negotiables is what creates space for better opportunities and helps prevent burnout down the road.⁠

One of the best parts about living in the Okanagan is how easy it is to get outside 🌿

Within an hour of Kelowna, you’ll find it all, lake viewpoints, forest trails, waterfall hikes, and quick summit climbs that are perfect for a weekend reset.

These are just a few of my go-to spots when I need a dose of fresh air and a change of scenery 🌄

Okkk I heard the buzz about this new spot so obviously I had to go check it out 👀⁠

I’m a big fan of a good bagel with cream cheese, and this place seriously knows what they’re doing.⁠

I tried the everything bagel with scallion + garlic “schmear” and the sesame bagel with honey pistachio — one savoury, one sweet. Both were so good, but honestly the schmears alone are next level. 🥯⁠

Definitely worth a visit, there’s a line up for a reason!⁠ ⁠
