🦞 We love a good food truck… especially when it involves lobster!⁠

If you’ve been craving lobster in Kelowna, add this food truck to your list. There aren’t a ton of spots around town serving Atlantic seafood, so I was very curious to try it!⁠

I went for the lobster grilled cheese, made with 100% Atlantic lobster and a blend of premium cheeses, served with a side of chips. They also have a lobster roll if that’s more your style!⁠

Since they’re a food truck, their location changes, so be sure to check their Instagram for their current schedule and where you can find them next.⁠

When I moved into my new apartment earlier this year, I had no idea where to start! I had no furniture, a completely blank one-bedroom space and a lot of decisions to make...⁠

So I brought in Sticks + Stones Design Group to help me figure it all out.⁠

When I first toured the building, I was really drawn to the show suites they designed and staged, as well as the style of the building itself. I loved the warm tones, cozy feel and how everything was scaled to work with the space.⁠

That became the starting point for my own apartment, but we also had to figure out what made sense for my budget and, more importantly, how I actually live.⁠

I’m tall, I work from home and I wanted pieces that were comfortable and functional, while still making the apartment feel cohesive.⁠

Carla, the owner of Sticks + Stones, has over 30 years of experience in the industry and came shopping with me to help choose pieces that actually made sense for the space. She was my sounding board throughout the whole process, helping with everything from scale and layout to quality and functionality.⁠

And honestly, that made a huge difference. Starting with an empty apartment meant there were a LOT of decisions to make, and having someone I trusted to help narrow everything down made the process so much easier and much faster.⁠

It was also a good reminder that furnishing a smaller space isn’t just about finding things that look good. Everything needs to work together and actually work for the way you live.⁠

🍽️ August Best Bites! ✨⁠

So many yummy bites this month, with lots of those final summer flavours. Here are a few of the things I tried and loved in August:⁠

🍸 Dulce Martini + Peach Pizza | Marzano, Nelson⁠
One of the best espresso martinis I’ve had in a long time! Kahlua, vodka, Galliano, salted caramel and my favourite, Oso Negro espresso. 👌 And the peach pizza was such a good summer feature with fresh peaches, prosciutto, herb purée, fresh basil, peach vinaigrette, olive oil and fior di latte.⁠

🌱 Brussels Sprouts + Duck Fat Popcorn | microkelowna, Kelowna⁠
A lot of places do good Brussels sprouts, but these ones really stood out. The agave miso vinaigrette with chili threads was so good. And the duck fat popcorn with warm duck fat, fresh rosemary and Vancouver Island sea salt? Addictinggg.⁠

🍍 Pineapple Pastry | SPROUT, Kelowna⁠
A beignet with pineapple inside... I honestly don’t know what else was in it or how to describe it, but it was amazing. ⁠

🍵 Iced Raspberry Matcha Cheesecake | Craft 42 Roasters, Kelowna⁠
I love anything raspberry, so I had to try this one. Raspberry purée, elderflower syrup, matcha and cheesecake fold foam. Such a fun combination!⁠

🍋 Key Lime Bar | Milk Shed Coffeehouse, Kelowna⁠
I love anything key lime, so I obviously had to try this. My only complaint? I wish these bars were bigger. 😂⁠

🍓 House-Made Berry Jam | Diner Deluxe | Kelowna, Kelowna⁠
Their house-made berry jam comes with their breakfast toast, and it was so good. Simple, but definitely one of those little things that makes a meal even better.⁠

🦞 Lobster Grilled Cheese | The Lobster Pot, Kelowna⁠
Atlantic lobster, a blend of premium cheeses and a side of chips. A fun take on a grilled cheese and definitely not your average food truck sandwich!⁠

🍵 The best matcha in Kelowna? I have a few favourites.⁠..

If you know me, you know I’m a coffee lover, but I also LOVE matcha. And after trying what feels like a million matchas around Kelowna this summer, I’ve definitely found a few that stand out. 👀⁠

From fruity matchas and cold foam creations to classic lattes and fun seasonal flavours, there are so many good ones around the city right now.⁠

☕️ Welcome to Grandma’s. You’re going to want dessert.⁠

If you’re familiar with Bright Jenny Coffee, you know they’ve already become a Kelowna favourite. But they recently opened a new nostalgic coffee shop in downtown Kelowna, and the whole space feels like a trip to Grandma’s house.⁠

The Grandma Wall is also such a fun touch. 👵🏼⁠

I knew I had to try one of their speciality drinks, especially because they’re known for their pie lattes. So naturally, I went with the Strawberry Cream Pie Latte 🍓🥧⁠

And because apparently one sweet wasn’t enough, I also tried the Blueberry Cheesecake Bun. 🫐⁠

I don’t usually like to overdo it with the sweets, but I guess when you’re at Grandma’s… you gotta. 😂⁠

🍝 Kelowna has a new pasta bar!⁠

If you love pasta, you’re going to want to add this one to your list. 👀⁠

After years of catering, they’ve officially opened a brick-and-mortar fast-casual Italian eatery, where you can walk in, choose your pasta and watch it come together right in front of you.⁠

We tried a few from the menu:⁠

🍝 Pistacchiosa — fusilloni, basil & pistachio pesto, lemon ricotta, cherry tomato + pistachio⁠

🍄 Tartufata — mafaldine, wild mushrooms, truffle ricotta, parmesan + fresh parsley⁠

🥩 Al Brasato — braised beef filling, pear & blue cheese sauce, crispy guanciale + toasted walnuts⁠

And because dessert is non-negotiable… a classic cannoli filled with sweet lemon ricotta. 🤌⁠
