Before I get into todays pain point, I would like to give you a brief history of who I am. I am an army veteran that decided to stay in Germany to raise my kids. So, of course I had to learn the language, which I speak rather well. As a parent you want to provide and ensure your financially secure, so I furthered my education. I recently registered as a freelancer here in Germany, but I encountered my first big pain point, which brings me to todays topic.

Elster is an online tax portal here in Germany and when starting a new venture or entrepreneurial career you need to register ( Fragebogen zur steuerlichen Erfassung für Einzelunternehmen) online through them. As a nonnative German speaker I found it rather challenging; keep in mind I do speak the language. The problem is that the terminology is not my area of expertise. My thought was to go directly to the Finanzamt, but they are not allowed to help you with this. The Finanzamt will tell you to contact someone through the website from Elster’s website. Navigating the help section of Elster is done with a chatbot, which will direct you to the Finanzamt or listing of tax consultants in your area.

The problem is these consultants often do not care to work with smaller companies entering the industry. The reason why is because they cater to larger firms; where they are considered more valuable for ROI (return on investment). I am old school or maybe its just me, but I value human connection. The marketer side of me is screaming this is a horrible customer experience. What are your thoughts or has this happened to you?

Bevor ich in den heutigen Schmerzpunkt komme, möchte ich Ihnen eine kurze Geschichte darüber geben, wer ich bin. Ich bin ein Armeeveteran, der beschlossen hat, in Deutschland zu bleiben, um meine Kinder großzuziehen. Also musste ich natürlich die Sprache lernen, die ich ziemlich gut spreche. Als Elternteil möchten Sie Ihre finanzielle Sicherheit gewährleisten und sicherstellen, also habe ich meine Ausbildung gefördert. Ich habe mich kürzlich als Freiberufler hier in Deutschland registriert, aber ich bin auf meinen ersten großen Schmerzpunkt gestoßen, der mich zum heutigen Thema bringt.

Elster ist ein Online-Steuerportal hier in Deutschland und wenn Sie ein neues Unternehmen oder eine unternehmerische Karriere beginnen, müssen Sie sich online über sie registrieren ( Fragebogen zur steuerlichen Erfassung für Einzelunternehmen). Der Grund dafür ist, dass sie sich an größere Unternehmen richten; wo sie als wertvoller für den ROI (Return on Investment) angesehen werden. Ich bin altmodisch oder vielleicht nur ich, aber ich schätze die menschliche Verbindung. Die Vermarkter-Seite von mir schreit, dass dies eine schreckliche Kundenerfahrung ist.
