If you've heard "Content Creator" too much last year, get used to hearing it more often!

Snapchat, TikTok have both been ramping up their respective creator funds to pay creators on their platforms to make exciting content, that pulls in more people to use the platforms. While Snapchat now appears to be cooling off a little on its commitment to spend $1M per day, we suspect this is a trend that's here to stay. More platforms will look into opening up similar creator funds across the board, to boost visibility and encourage more viewers on their platforms.

But this isn't the only reason why you'll be hearing the word. Many companies are now seriously looking to hire content creators in-house or on a freelance basis to create for social media channels, especially Instagram and TikTok. Having someone whose only task is content creation is cost-effective and clever, as their whole focus would be mapping trends, finding topics to engage on, and making the best content possible.

You might've heard this before: "Repurpose your content"

Great content deserves to be shared with as many people as possible, through as many channels as possible, but, it also deserves to be delivered in different ways too. Here are three ideas to re-purpose content that you've already created, and for this, we're assuming you created a small series on how to start your own garden on your social channels!

1. Turn into a blog post: You've written reams of posts by now on how to start your garden, all you have to do is collect it, format it and tailor it to a blog. Use the pictures you used on your socials, re-size them and make the connection greater! This is especially great if your audience is blog-first, social-second (aka, they don't want to click through all your posts and would rather know in one go!)

2. Turn it into a video: Viewers retain 95% of what they watch/hear in a video, so take your series on gardening and make it into a video that covers all the important points, and if you have any video footage make sure to showcase that too!

3. Turn it into an infographic: A crisp, visually appealing infographic will help people understand all the wisdom of gardening. As a bonus, you could offer this little infographic as a download so they can store it for ages to come and share it with their circles!

What's the difference between good copy and great copy?

1. Simplicity: Great copy delivers the message in simple words, in a way that everyone is able to understand. It avoids jargon and complex sentence structures.

2. Empathy: You can often tell a copy is great because there's just that touch of understanding of what the customer wants or needs. Being able to put yourself in the shoes of your customer and think/feel like them, is the mark of a great copywriter.

Get these two things down pat, and you'll be on your way to greatness (at least in copywriting)

Building Communities

No matter how great your copy is or large your marketing spend is, the loyalty of your audience is not guaranteed in the digital space. But what can help them stay around a little longer, is creating a sense of community and belonging amongst them.

Before you start building your community, however, there's some things you need to consider:

1. Where will your community be housed? Will it be in a Facebook Group, a Discord channel, or on your website? We recommend creating a community space where most of your audience exists.

2. What happens in your community? Have different topics for different days within the community space to talk about. It's important for community members to talk to each other too, giving them topics and ideas to speak about is a great way to go. Also, don't forget to regularly ask for feedback, tease your next product or service iteration!

3. Who manages your community? Hire a community manager externally or promote top engagers to help with the community management. Remember, your community's health is dependent on those who manage it on a day-to-day basis, so choose wisely!

Social Audio: Why you should get involved

You've probably been hearing about Twitter Spaces and Clubhouse for a really long time now and hate the idea of jumping into social audio, but we think this is just what your brand might need.

Community-building and authenticity are not just ideas but strategies that many brands will be pivoting to and a big part of this is giving the brand a more human, engaging perception.

So far your customers are mostly reading text and watching pre-made videos that build a perception of your brand in their minds. an off-the-cuff Twitter Space or Clubhouse room is the perfect answer to making your brand seem more personable and human.

Having a big following is great, but do you have an engaged audience?

❗ An engaged audience is one that regularly likes, shares, and comments on your posts and pushes your brand forward on your chosen social channels.

So how do you build an engaged audience? Two quick ideas:

👉 Dive into your customer personas and figure out who in your current audience closely matches them. Gain an understanding of what they like to see, what platforms they use, and the type of content they consume.

👉 Develop a strategy to entice your audience to engage with you. This could be either breaking your brand perception and adopting a more fun vibe or having a sleek, design-oriented approach. Your strategy will define how your brand is perceived and audience interactions will change accordingly.
