Thanks so much to the California Copyright Conference to be the CCC January Member Spotlight 2026. I am so proud of their support.
The CCC is proud to highlight members of our copyright community. This month's spotlight is on CCC member Jon Andrew Campbell, Steam Music Group founder.
Born in West Berlin during the Cold War, Jon Andrew Campbell began his professional life as a foreign correspondent, reporting on both sides of the Berlin Wall. He entered the music industry in 1990 with Sony Music Germany, and just two years later launched his first music PR agency and publishing company.
Over the next 25 years, Jon Andrew established himself as a leader in music publishing, promotion, and strategic development within the global music market. He served in senior roles at several prominent labels and distributors—including Sony Music Germany, SPV Records, Koch International, and V2 Records—and co-founded Gordeon Music Promotion, one of Germany’s earliest and most influential independent music PR agencies. His work helped shape the trajectory of music marketing during both the pre-digital era and the industry’s early transition into digital media.
In 2013, Jon Andrew founded Steam Music Group, an independent publishing, promotion, and sync agency with global reach and offices in Los Angeles, Berlin, and Stockholm. Built for a fast-paced, digital-first environment, Steam Music Group reflects Jon Andrew’s commitment to creativity, innovation, agility, and international collaboration in today’s evolving music industry.
Steam Music offers a unique and highly efficient platform for North American publishers and rights holders who are looking to expand their presence in Europe without the overhead of managing multiple sub-publishing partners. With direct affiliations to key PROs and CMOs including GEMA, SUISA, AKM, STIM, TONO, KODA, TEOSTO, and ACUM, Steam Music ensures that rights are administered accurately, transparently, and efficiently.
What sets Steam Music apart is its deep specialization in high-value European territories, including:
Germany, Austria, Switzerland (GSA)
The Nordic countries + Baltic region
All of Eastern Europe + Israel
Rather than casting a wide but shallow net, Steam Music works closely and proactively within these regions, combining local market expertise with hands-on support in publishing administration, sub-publishing, sync licensing, artist promotion, marketing, and strategic consulting. This regional focus allows the company to generate real, trackable value for North American clients through sync opportunities, revenue growth, and cultural integration.
Whether it’s navigating the complexities of European copyright law, pitching music to local supervisors or simply ensuring that royalties are maximized across borders, Steam Music acts as a trusted partner that bridges the gap between continents, cultures, and commercial potential.
As both a publishing administrator and creative sync agency, Steam Music helps rights holders go beyond traditional back-end administration. The company actively pitches catalogs, fosters creative collaborations, and connects artists with new audiences across Europe.
If you’re a North American publisher or rights holder looking to expand into Europe with a tailored, trustworthy, and proven partner, Steam Music offers a direct, efficient, and dynamic solution—backed by decades of real-world industry experience.
