With a background in filmmaking, I've been screen-printing for over 15 years as a means of supporting myself when I was not working on set. In 2009, I started Rawtee, a webzine/label about screen-printing and graphic T-shirts. While struggling with depression, screen-printing became a for

m of therapy, providing the freedom to create without constraints. Now with Jōhatsu, I aim to help others facing similar challenges by sharing profits with mental health resources

Jōhatsu (蒸発) is a Japanese term meaning ‘evaporation,’ often used to describe people who intentionally disappear to escape personal struggles or societal pressures, vanishing as if they were never there. Naming the brand Jōhatsu was intentional; it represents the act of stepping away from an old life and beginning again with a clear purpose
