Who's coming out for lunch? Where are we going today? There are our favourites like Bistro or .berlin. And then there are new discoveries like in the marvellous former Markthalle VII.

It was built in 1888 between Dresdener Straße and Legiendamm according to plans by the city planning officer to replace the street markets and secure the food supply for the growing population.

Rethinking supermarkets and shopping // SuperHub, Meerstad

Meerstad is the greenest part of Groningen. No wonder the city is growing. Until recently, however, there was no center. What was needed was not a shopping center, but rather a reinterpreted sustainable market hall that could grow with the neighborhood and had a flexible mixed-use concept.

Designed by , the façade of the oval timber building was made from the modular thermfix vario profile system from our client .

Halfway between Fondamenta Nuove and Murano Island with .milan

On an almost rectangular ground plan, Chipperfield also focussed on the last thing in life: a cemetery extension on the Venetian island of San Michele.

For decades, the ideal of park cemeteries with their understated architecture and well-maintained graveyards - which look more like the front yards of single-family houses, dominated.

Unlike this: The guiding principle of the project is an arrangement of courtyards of different sizes, defined by blind perimeter walls and internal colonnades reminiscent of the San Michele cloister.

Guided tour through legendary

The broadcasting center near the Spree in Oberschöneweide, which can be visited every first and last Saturday, was built between 1951 and 1956 by the architect . The interior design was carried out with significant input from the renowned .

At the time, the hall and studio complex was one of the most modern radio building constructions in Europe. Calculations that were conducted without computers at the beginning of the 1950s still ensure a perfect sound-diffusion balance today.

So it's no wonder that top-class artists such as Depeche Mode, Ben Howard and Bon Iver have fallen in love with this very building. Neo-classical composer Nils Frahm, who has been a permanent tenant here since 2016, also has a special connection with the Funkhaus.

Reflecting the environment...

Quite photogenic, but the façade is not just a formal gimmick. The specially coated glass surfaces of the outer shell of the double-skin façade also prevent the interior from heating up. Our client of supplied the laminated safety glass underneath.

The fully digitalized office building from Danish can be heated, ventilated and illuminated in a targeted manner with the help of 6,000 sensors throughout the building.

Outside the building, on the forecourt of Berlin Central Station, the quality of stay is unfortunately still lacking.

Hans Schaefers Prize 2023 in the

It is no coincidence that the BDA Young Talent Award for outstanding architects and urban planners was held here this year.

The award's namesake left behind this impressive landmark at Hohenzollerndamm S-Bahn station in Berlin-Wilmersdorf. Together with the and the , the 23-storey high-rise building represents a brief, futuristic architectural phase in West Berlin in the mid-1970s. Just a few years ago, the Deutsche Rentenversicherung Bund building was extensively renovated by .architects.

Wonder where we are today?

Purist white surfaces, horizontal window formats and circular elements: The New Objectivity style combined with monumental, classicist elements characterize the imposing building of the from 1930. It is one of the first reinforced concrete skeleton buildings of the Weimar Republic.

None other than Odol mouthwash manufacturer Karl August Lingner wanted to use the museum to impart knowledge about anatomy, hygiene and healthy living to the public. The design was provided by architect , while the general renovation and modernization between 2002 and 2019 can be attributed to architect .

In apparent contradiction to the clinical impression of the museum's name are the socially relevant themes for the exhibitions, such as the current "Hello Happiness" with the chapter "Yoga in the GDR".
