What’s your brand positioning?

Because “we offer high quality products and great customer service” isn’t exactly a category-defining statement.

Your brand positioning is what gives your brand shape.
It’s the difference between being recognisable… and being replaceable.

If it’s not clear, your messaging wobbles, your visuals work overtime, and your audience is left doing too much guesswork.

And frankly, they won’t.

London Packaging Week 2026 📦

Another year of exploring what’s new in packaging.

This year my focus was on new materials, label suppliers and making new connections, particularly around packaging compliance, PPWR and EPR.

There was lots to see from packaging suppliers, some interesting biomaterials including seaweed-based solutions, and of course the Innovation Awards, celebrating some seriously clever packaging.

Plus, always good to bump into familiar faces and make some new connections along the way.

A productive couple of days, lots of inspiration and a very full camera roll! 😄

Double Win this week 🌟

ME BRAND has been named ‘Best Boutique Brand & Packaging Design Studio 2026’, for the second year running, and picked up the ‘Design Innovation Excellence Award’ at the SME News Greater London Enterprise Awards.

Two awards, one clear focus: helping brands stand out and connect with the people they’re for.

Thanks to SMENews for the recognition, and to every client who trusted us with their brand this year.

If customers need three paragraphs, a diagram and a TED Talk to understand your product… we’ve got problems 😅

Packaging should communicate quickly.
What it is. Who it’s for. Why it matters.

Simple sells faster.

Get Repost App • Hiring for E-com Brands Worldwide 🌍 Why Are So Many eCommerce Brands Starting to Look the Same? 👀

Take a look at almost any eCommerce category today, and you’ll notice something: more and more brands are starting to look the same.

Similar colors. Similar fonts. Similar product photography. Similar “premium” aesthetics.

Templates and AI have made good-looking design more accessible than ever. But they’ve also made it easier to follow the same visual formulas everyone else is using.

Our partner ME BRAND, a boutique branding and packaging design studio, explores this problem in a new guest article on the Talents Boutique blog:
“Why Every eCommerce Brand Looks the Same Right Now (And How Not to Be One of Them)”

Drawing on 28+ years of design experience, Kitty Lai explains:

▪️ Why eCommerce brands are becoming visually similar
▪️ How trends, competitor inspiration, templates, and AI contribute to it
▪️ Why looking polished isn’t the same as being memorable
▪️ How to identify what your brand can truly own
▪️ How to stand out without trying too hard to be “different”

One idea from the article sums it up perfectly:
💬 «You don’t need to be completely different from everyone else. You just need to be recognisably you.»

If you’re building an Amazon, DTC, Shopify, or other eCommerce brand, this one is worth a read.

Remember when every brand suddenly looked identical?
Beige backgrounds. Tiny serif logos. Floating product shadows.

Trends are fun – but if your entire identity relies on them, your brand’s expiry date might already be looming 👀

Build something with personality, not just Pinterest appeal.

13. Your logo isn’t tired. Your direction is.
Sometimes the logo isn’t actually the problem.
It’s the inconsistent messaging, unclear audience and random visuals surrounding it 😅

Before rushing into a rebrand, ask yourself – does your strategy need fixing first?

Because no logo can carry a confused brand alone.

Not every brand problem is solved with a new logo.

Sometimes the real shift happens when strategy, positioning, messaging, and visual identity finally start working together instead of competing for attention.

A little reminder that good branding should do more than look polished. It should create clarity, confidence, consistency… and support where your business is heading next. 🌿

It’s been quite the journey, and boy, does time fly! ✨

I’ve now been working as Creative Director for my client, Kitchen Curated, on a retainer support for nine months, and it feels like everything is finally starting to fall into place.

After the rebrand with ME BRAND over a year ago, which included a new brand identity, packaging, marketing materials and website, we’ve been steadily building the visual foundations of the business.

From creating the digital marketing templates to bringing in an Amazon designer and, more recently, a social media specialist, I can finally see all the different visual elements beginning to come to life as one brand.

There’s still plenty more to come, with the range continuing to grow, but it’s exciting to see Kitchen Curated gaining interest and momentum.

One little favour though… 🙏 Bigger influencers understandably want to see a strong and engaged social following before collaborating, so if you like discovering great food brands, yummy airfryer recipes, please give Kitchen Curated a follow!

And of course, have a look at the range on our website - kitchencurated.co.uk
You can also find the products on Amazon in both the UK and US.

A little follow can make a bigger difference than you might think. 💛

Same tower. Different decade. Different me. 🗼

My fourth time up the Eiffel Tower.

The first was when I was 16. Then again in my early 20s, at 30, and now at 51.

So apparently, I visit once every decade or so. 😂

This time, I really wanted to get to the summit with my family. But with Paris hitting 39°C on Friday, the summit was closed for health and safety reasons.

Fair enough.

We went up later that evening instead, and it was still 32°C at 10.30pm. 🥵

I mainly wanted to reach the summit because I genuinely couldn’t remember whether I’d made it all the way to the top the last time 20 years ago.

But standing there again, I realised something.

The Eiffel Tower hasn’t changed. I have.

Every visit has felt different because I’ve been a different person each time. Different age. Different perspective. Different people beside me. Different things I notice.

Again, I appreciated the history, the architecture and the sheer engineering of it all even more.

And then there was the best bit: watching my son experience it for the first time.

It made me think about something I see in branding all the time.

The thing itself might not change, but the experience of it can.

Your audience sees your brand from their own place in life. Their experiences, expectations and perspective all change what they see.

Which is why great design isn’t just about making something look good.

It’s about creating something that can still mean something when people come back to it years later.

Same tower.

Different view.

Different perspective.

And apparently… I’ll see you again in 2036. 😂
🗼

Have you ever revisited somewhere years later and realised you were seeing it completely differently?
