Last Saturday, the MyQuests team took part in the weekly parkrun at Krupunder See in Halstenbek — a global 5 km community run that brings people together every weekend. parkrun events are free, inclusive, and volunteer-driven, promoting fitness and local community spirit.

I grew up with Google. Like most of us, it was my go-to for everything—from simple questions to deep dives. But how we search for information is changing fast. What if Google isn’t our first choice in a few years?

Our generation doesn’t ‘Google’… we scroll.
Recently, I asked my friend where he finds the best restaurants in Hamburg. His answer? TikTok and Instagram. Not Google. 40% of Gen Z now prefer these platforms for recommendations.

Why? The format’s more immersive, faster, and way more authentic. You see the food, the vibe, real reviews—all in seconds. No more digging through pages of results or clicking 10 links to find what you need.

And that’s not all…

𝗪𝗲𝗹𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 ‘𝗚𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗲’ 𝗘𝗿𝗮 with and the corresponding .

Since summer 2024, AI-powered search tools are reshaping the game:

• 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝗽𝗹𝗲𝘅𝗶𝘁𝘆: Crunches info into clear answers, not link lists.
• 𝗦𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵𝗚𝗣𝗧 (OpenAI): A chatbot-style engine that gets context and replies directly.
• 𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝗕𝗶𝗻𝗴 (Microsoft): Hybrid of generative AI and classic search.
• 𝗔𝗜 𝗢𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄 (Google): Google’s answer... but it’s still clunky.

👉 We’re not typing keywords anymore. We want straight, specific answers.

𝗠𝘆 𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲? 𝗚𝗼𝗼𝗴𝗹𝗲 𝗶𝘀𝗻’𝘁 𝗱𝗲𝗮𝗱... 𝗯𝘂𝘁 𝗶𝘁’𝘀 𝘄𝗼𝗯𝗯𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴.
It’s still a giant with billions of daily searches, but its monopoly is over. Its ad-driven model feels outdated next to cleaner, no-BS alternatives.

The big question: Will these new engines monetize without becoming as annoying as ? 🤔

Ever wonder what ranking signals are and how to rank on Google? I get these questions all the time—especially since tends to keep its secrets a little under wraps. 🤔

While being the best for your customers—or simply being yourself (as grandma always said)—is charming advice, it can feel a bit vague when you’re not sure how to get there.

• Is your content well produced or a bit sloppy?
• Did you double-check your grammar? (sry i’m a bit drunk, so i didn’t = true, but still.)
• Who are you to speak as an expert? 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗲 𝗶𝘁!
• How would you grade yourself? Could even your cat be ashamed of it?
• What was your effort to ensure that your customers find you, or do you just wait for it to happen on its own? ( , )

Imagine a home wine tasting—would your site be on the top shelf or the bottom? Would it be served in a fancy glass bottle or just a simple tetra pak?
