One-piece comfort in its lightest form. 💕👶

The iF DESIGN AWARD 2026-winning Ultra-light StayPut Soother combines comfort, functionality and thoughtful design in an everyday essential.

Designed as a light one-piece silicone soother, it is soft, symmetrical and made to fit comfortably in a baby’s mouth from any direction. Its lightweight construction helps it stay in place longer, reducing dropped soothers and creating a calmer experience for both babies and parents.

The one-piece design is shaped for reduced skin contact and improved airflow, while an orthodontic vented teat gently supports developing teeth and gums. A NightGlow version also charges in daylight and glows in the dark.

A design focused on the smallest details and everyday moments that matter most.

As a new design leader, you have to make judgment calls, set the tone and build culture — but you don't have a framework for any of it yet.

Tiffany Chen brings over a decade of experience in human-centered design leadership, from shaping host education and development programs at Airbnb to leading projects across IDEO's learning and education portfolio.

Tiffany knows that leading design teams isn't about following a one-size-fits-all playbook — who you are, how your team collaborates and how your organization operates are just some of the things that should inform your leadership approach and craft.

Her focus is helping leaders navigate that complexity, build confidence and embody a leadership style that is authentic, adaptive and impactful.

Design that guides through touch. 🩶

517-2 Door Handle takes its place among the iF DESIGN AWARD 2026 winners, merging function, empathy and architectural culture into one thoughtful object.

Inspired by Niemeyer’s Museu do Olho, its elliptical shape becomes a tactile guide for visually impaired users. Braille is integrated directly into the surface, with “EXIT” on the inside and customizable room identification on the outside. This reduces the need for extra signage, enhances evacuation safety and helps prevent entry into dead-end rooms.

Crafted from AISI 304 stainless steel with premium finishes, the design combines durability, hygiene and sculptural elegance.

A door handle that turns touch into orientation.

For many design leaders, the biggest skill gap lies in transitioning their identity — from solving problems directly to creating conditions for others to solve them.

Andy Polaine brings over 30 years of experience in design and innovation with clients across industries. As former Group Design Director of Client Evolution at Fjord and now a design leadership coach, Andy works closely with leaders navigating the realities of stepping into leadership roles.

In his coaching, he sees a recurring pattern:design leaders facing uncertainty, rebuilding confidence and going through what he describes as a mid-career identity shift.

His approach is to lead on a human level. To meet people where they are, create a space where they can be open about their fears and challenges, and motivate them to reflect, learn and grow.

It’s time to talk about the consequences of man-made design. 🎙️

In this episode of FUTURE OF XYZ, we welcome Karen Korellis Reuther, author of MAN-MADE, Design Lecturer at the Harvard Graduate School of Design, former Creative Executive at NIKE and Reebok, iF DESIGN AWARD Jury Chairperson and design advocate.

As Karen highlights in this conversation, women are 73% more likely to be injured in a car crash than men. Across the trades, 90% of women cannot find properly fitting safety gear. And in public spaces everywhere, the lines for women’s restrooms are multitudes longer than for men.

These are not statistical anomalies. They are the predictable consequences of a world designed primarily by and for men.

A month before the release of her first book, Karen joins us to surface some uncomfortable design and economic truths that have long been felt but not named, and to present opportunities to make it right so we can all play a part in building a world that fits everyone.

Deep work, by design. 🐠

University of Stuttgart: Aquarium Learning Space joins the ranks of the iF DESIGN AWARD 2026 winners, transforming a former student workroom into a contemporary setting for focused study and exchange.

Set within a late-1970s building on the Vaihingen campus, the project is part of the university’s effort to revitalize its architectural heritage. Reimagined for up to 100 students, it creates a new learning environment built around how students gather, focus and share ideas today.

A design that shows how existing spaces can transform into places for contemporary learning.

Dive into the iF Design Trend Report 2026 and explore the forces shaping what comes next. ❤️

Chapter one explores Age of Average and Recoupling Design, one of four key trend and countertrend pairs shaping this year’s edition.

See how AI is driving a new Age of Average, with algorithms replicating the most probable and familiar solutions and accelerating sameness across domains.

The chapter also shows how Recoupling Design responds by breaking with algorithmic logic and rediscovering distinctive, pre-digital and attitude-driven design approaches.
