Most interns, with the exception of a certain First Daughter, aren't newsworthy. But you might want to get to know Jen Welter, the first female assistant coaching intern in the NFL. Welter is spending the summer interning with the Arizona Cardinal's coaching staff when training camp starts August 1. She's used to breaking new ground: She spent 14 years playing professional football as a part of the Women's Football Alliance (as a linebacker!), and last year, she was the first female to join an Indoor Football League team as a non-kicking player. She must have done a damn good job, because her team, the Texas Revolution, hired her to coach linebackers and special teams in February 2015—a year after she joined them as a player.
