3. Advent: Erich Fromm kam aus einer strengen frankfurter Familie, weigerte sich Rabbiner zu werden und begann ein Studium der Rechtswissenschaften. Wandte sich dann doch lieber der Soziologie in Heidelberg zu und promovierte mit dem Thema »Das jüdische Gesetz«. Während Hi**ers Machtergreifung emigrierte er nach Genf und New York, von dort er auch Adorno und die Frankfurter Schule aus dem Exil beeinflusste. Mexiko und schließlich Schweiz, wo er an seinem vierten Herzinfarkt verstarb. In seinen Büchern widmete er sich der Liebes- und Arbeitsfähigkeit des Menschen, gesundem Originalsein statt Haben und den kulturellen Opiaten, die uns vom Menschwerden ablenken. Ob es ihm heute warm ums Herz würde, wenn er unsere aktuelle Pandemiesituation mit den gesellschaftlichen Umbrüchen vom Industriellen zum Digitalen Zeitalter und all den vielen Chancen für eine bessere Gesellschaft, mit mehr Fokus auf Mensch, Tier und Umwelt erlebte? Erich Fromm on the fear of freedom. "How many cases do we see in life where people work like crazy and in reality you realise that fear is driving them". Erich Fromm came from a strict Frankfurt family, refused to become a rabbi and began studying law. He then turned to sociology in Heidelberg and wrote his doctoral thesis on "The Jewish Law". During Hi**er's seizure of power, he emigrated to Geneva and New York, from where he also influenced Adorno and the Frankfurt School from exile. Mexico and finally Switzerland, where he died of his fourth heart attack. In his books, he focussed on the human capacity for love and work, healthy originality instead of having, and the cultural opiates that distract us from becoming human. Would he feel warm at heart today if he experienced our current pandemic situation with the social upheavals from the industrial to the digital age and all the many opportunities for a better society with a greater focus on people, animals and the environment? Erich Fromm sobre el miedo a la libertad. "¿Cuántos casos vemos en la vida en los que la gente trabaja como loca y en realidad te das cuenta de que el miedo los impulsa?". Erich Fromm procedía de una estricta familia de Fráncfort, se negó a ser rabino y empezó a estudiar Derecho. Después se orientó hacia la sociología en Heidelberg y escribió su tesis doctoral sobre "La ley judía". Durante la toma del poder por Hi**er, emigró a Ginebra y Nueva York, desde donde también influyó en Adorno y la Escuela de Fráncfort desde el exilio. México y finalmente Suiza, donde murió de su cuarto infarto. En sus libros se centró en la capacidad humana para el amor y el trabajo, la sana originalidad en lugar del tener y los opiáceos culturales que nos distraen de llegar a ser humanos. ¿Tendría hoy el corazón caliente si viviera nuestra actual situación pandémica, con las convulsiones sociales de la era industrial a la digital y todas las numerosas oportunidades para una sociedad mejor, más centrada en las personas, los animales y el medio ambiente?
