Can you use this iPhone in 2019? 📱
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
This is an iPhone 3G introduced back in 2008. Currently, it’s running iOS 4.2.1, which is the last iOS supporting iPhone 3G. Surprisingly, it works pretty smooth for nearly 11 years old phone. All of the built-in apps (except YouTube) works perfectly and can be used without any problems. You can install apps from App Store, but unfortunately, most of them doesn’t work anymore, because it requires to update app to latest version. Also, I tried to make a phone call and I was shocked how clear it was.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
In summary, you are able to use an iPhone 3G in case of emergency, but you won’t be able to use any of online apps (e.g. Instagram, Facebook, etc.). The built-in Maps (which is based on Google Maps instead of Apple Maps) works well and you can use the turn-by-turn navigation too. So, you can make a phone call, send a message, use Safari for simple information search and use Maps to get from point A to point B.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Only thing, it needs to get a battery replacement, because it still has its original battery in it.
