Nicht einmal Michael Schumacher oder Sebastian Vettel kommen auf so viele Grand Prix in der Formel 1 wie Bernd Mayländer.

Der Vollblutrennfahrer aus Schorndorf in der Nähe von Stuttgart ist der deutsche Fixpunkt in der Motorsport-Königsklasse: Mayländer ist Pilot des Safety Cars und feiert beim Saisonstart an diesem Wochenende in Melbourne seinen 500. Grand Prix. "Diese Ära ist für mich ein ganz besonderer und bedeutender Abschnitt meines Lebens", sagte der 54-Jährige. 🙌

Ans Aufhören denkt Mayländer noch lange nicht. "Ich werde auch oft gefragt, wie lange ich das noch machen möchte", erzählte er. "Das kann man natürlich nicht vorhersagen, aber die 600 habe ich fest im Blick, 700 könnten es auch werden und 750 wäre eine tolle Zahl."
