❤️🦊 Unsere zwei Patenfüchse 🦊❤️
Day 13 of Our Rescue Calendar ⛄🎄⛄ Zoé & Frodo and Their Unique Love Story ❣
At our sanctuary in Tierart, dozens of foxes are successfully rehabilitated and released into the wild every year. But the story of THESE two foxes is different.
Zoé and Frodo come from completely different backgrounds. Zoé, a pastel fox, was rescued from a fur farm in the Netherlands. Since her arrival at Tierart, she lived alone in her enclosure.
During the summer of 2016, a new fox showed up in the local area. He was continuously observed by a worried resident who couldn’t figure out what kind of “dog” he could be. The local resident managed to identify the fox and eventually brought him to the sanctuary.
Knowing that this kind of fox, a species that has largely bred exclusively on fur farms, the team guessed that Frodo has escaped from one nearby. As both foxes couldn't be released into the wild, the team had the idea of socializing them. They put them near each other, separated by a fence in order for them to get used to the company before the socializing could take place. The next morning, the team was caught in a big surprise!
It appeared that both foxes had socialized themselves! Apparently, during the first night, they started to dig on both sides of the fence and managed to get together.
Since then, Zoé and Frodo share one enclosure and never leave each other's side💞
