🍂 Have you ever experienced Yosemite in the fall?

As summer gives way to autumn, Yosemite Mariposa County takes on a completely different look. Fall colors gradually make their way from the high country down through Yosemite Valley and into the foothills, bringing shades of gold, orange, and crimson to the landscape

But the changing colors aren't the only reason to visit. Crisp mountain air, quieter trails, scenic drives, and plenty of opportunities to get outdoors make fall a great time to experience another side of our client Yosemite Mariposa County.

For travelers who know Yosemite for its famous waterfalls and summer adventures, autumn offers a good reason to look at the destination from a different perspective 🏔️🍁

🇺🇸 That’s a wrap on this year’s Discover America Nordic Roadshow!

What a week! From Helsinki to Stockholm, Copenhagen, and Oslo, this year’s roadshow has been a great success - and we couldn’t have asked for a better group of people to share it with.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us along the way. Your curiosity, conversations, questions, and good energy made each stop both insightful and, just as importantly, a lot of fun.

And, of course, a big thank you to all the destinations and partners who traveled with us and shared their latest news, inspiration, and stories from across the USA 🇺🇸

Four cities and four fantastic days - we’re already looking forward to doing it all again next year!

The Discover America Nordic Roadshow is in full swing!

Monday we were in Helsinki, yesterday in Stockholm, and today the roadshow has arrived in Copenhagen - before we wrap up the week in Oslo tomorrow ✈️

So far, it’s been a great few days of inspiring presentations, destination news, and conversations about the many travel experiences and opportunities across the USA.

We’re also proud to be representing several of our own U.S. clients along the way.

Today, we’re looking forward to welcoming the Danish travel trade for another afternoon of USA inspiration.

🥾 Some trips are about seeing a destination. Others are about walking straight through it.

Our client Mammoth Lakes sits in the heart of California's Eastern Sierra, surrounded by alpine lakes, mountain peaks, forests, and an impressive network of hiking trails.

But here's something you might not know: trails from Mammoth Lakes connect with two of America's most iconic long-distance routes – the Pacific Crest Trail and John Muir Trail.

You don't have to be a seasoned backpacker to experience the area, though. From short, family-friendly hikes to multi-day adventures, there are plenty of ways to explore the landscape at your own pace.

And with each season bringing something different - from spring wildflowers and summer alpine lakes to the golden colors of fall - hiking is also a great way to experience Mammoth Lakes beyond its well-known winter season 🏔️

Cashel Travel is an experienced DMC covering England, Scotland, Ireland, and Wales, creating tailor-made programs for leisure travelers, groups, and MICE clients.

🌴 When you think of Florida, a remote, car-free island might not be the first thing that comes to mind.

But that's exactly what you'll find on North Captiva Island, part of our client Fort Myers - Islands, Beaches and Neighborhoods.

Accessible only by boat or private plane, the small barrier island is just around 6.5 km long and offers a very different side of Florida - think quiet beaches, vacation rentals, casual local restaurants and getting around without a car.

For Nordic travelers looking towards Florida for some winter sun, it's a great example of how exploring beyond the better-known places can lead to a completely different travel experience. ☀️

And North Captiva is just one of the many distinct communities that make up the Fort Myers area; from Sanibel and Captiva to Estero and Bonita Springs.

Did you know that one of the Caribbean's classic fragrances has roots in the Danish West Indies? 🌴

In the 1800s, Danish pharmacist A.H. Riise created Riise's Bay Rum on St. Thomas - a double-distilled aftershave and hair tonic made with sugarcane spirit and oil from the leaves of the West Indian bay tree.

The product became popular far beyond the islands and was exported to both Europe and the U.S. - a small piece of Caribbean history that also tells the story of the long-standing connection between Denmark and what is now the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Today, that heritage lives on through our client Old St. Croix, whose history traces back to A.H. Riise and the former Danish West Indies.

For us, stories like this are a great way to discover another side of a destination; through the people, products, and traditions that have traveled far beyond its shores. 🌊

Last week, Karin returned from her annual field trip to the beautiful U.S Virgin Islands - United States Virgin Islands - visiting St. Thomas, St. John, and St. Croix.

During the trip, she explored hotels, experiences, and infrastructure across the islands and met with local tourism partners and stakeholders to discuss future opportunities for the Danish and Nordic markets.

Each island brings something different to the experience; from the lively atmosphere and spectacular views of St. Thomas to the natural beauty of St. John and the rich history, culture, and local character of St. Croix 🌴

There was also plenty of new hospitality product to explore, with new and upgraded hotel options creating even more opportunities for Nordic travelers.

A valuable week of meetings, destination updates, and first-hand insights that we look forward to bringing into our continued work with the U.S. Virgin Islands in the Nordic market ✈️

On Wednesday, Visit Estonia and the Estonian Convention Bureau welcomed travel trade partners to an inspiring evening at the brand new Business Hub at the Embassy of Estonia in Copenhagen.

Following a warm welcome from the Ambassador of Estonia, we got a taste of Estonia with local snacks, bites and beverages, alongside an introduction to the many opportunities the destination has to offer.

With airBaltic providing convenient connections to Tallinn, we were happy to support the event and spend the evening catching up with partners and friends from across the travel industry ✈️

And a little fun fact to take with you: Did you know that the name Tallinn is commonly linked to the Estonian Taani linn, meaning "Danish town" or "Danish castle"? 👀
