As the PR and Communications Specialist for Discover Dominica Authority (DDA), I had the privilege of participating in the Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association (CHTA) Marketplace in Antigua, alongside team DDA and premier hospitality partners including Secret Bay, Fort Young Hotel, Coulibri Ridge, InterContinental Dominica Cabrits Resort & Spa, and Ocean Oasis Hotel.
Our collective presence showcased Dominica’s rich tourism offerings and commitment to sustainable, authentic travel experiences. The event was an outstanding success, providing exceptional opportunities to engage with travel trade professionals, forge strategic partnerships, and elevate Dominica’s profile in the competitive Caribbean market.
In my role, I was proud to coordinate and host a successful press conference that generated meaningful media interest and visibility for Dominica. I also facilitated live radio interviews and outside broadcast and engaged audiences in real time via Facebook Live broadcast on the Discover Dominica page, helping bring the excitement of Marketplace directly to our followers. These, along with pre-event and post-event media outreach, ensured continuous engagement and strong PR coverage before, during, and after the event.
Being on the ground with our passionate team allowed me to witness firsthand the enthusiasm and professionalism that define our island’s hospitality sector. The connections made and conversations held will significantly contribute to driving increased visitation and economic growth for Dominica.
