Ava Chen stood at the edge of their rooftop garden, the city lights twinkling below her like stars against the night sky. She turned to Jamie, her partner in both life and art, who leaned against the railing, disbelief and concern etched across his features.
“Ava, this isn’t something to take lightly! You can’t just abandon everything we’ve built!” His voice shook with urgency, tangled emotions surfacing in his tone. “What about our plans for the community mural?”
With striking hazel eyes ablaze with conviction, Ava inhaled the warm evening air, feeling the depth of the moment. “I’ve been accepted into a traveling artist program that will take me across Europe. I have to go,” she declared, her voice steady despite the turmoil inside her.
