✨ The visual identity for the spring concert of the dance ensemble Sõprus has been shortlisted at the Golden Egg Awards (Kuldmuna) in the category Craft: Illustration.

The concept centers around the circle, a symbol of togetherness, shared rhythm, and the collective movement that defines folk dance. Through abstract forms and patterns inspired by traditional motifs, the design captures the energy and flow of dancers moving in a circle.

The concert title “Õnnelik siin sõõris olla” roughly translates to “Happy to be in the circle”, a phrase that reflects both the spirit of folk dance & the joy of moving together.

Clay is never just a surface, it’s something you shape, press, carve and transform. For Clayscape, the visual identity grows from that same tactile thinking.

Textures, warm earthy tones & a calm typographic system reflect the material itself — organic, imperfect and grounded. The headline typeface brings character and presence, while the body text stays light and refined, allowing the textures and visuals to breathe.

Alongside clay paintings, the artist also guides hands-on workshops where participants can explore the material themselves, shaping surfaces, creating objects and experimenting with clay’s natural texture and form.

Clayscape is a conceptual brand identity built around clay paintings and the transformation of raw earth into lasting art.

I set out to explore how something deeply tactile and grounded can be translated into a visual system that feels refined and contemporary, without losing its warmth. The idea “Living Earth, Lasting Art” became the foundation — reflecting the journey from raw material to finished artwork, from texture and movement to something timeless.

The identity balances organic surfaces with a confident typographic presence, and calm earthy tones with a quiet sense of strength. Clay paintings often resemble abstract landscapes, which is where the name Clayscape emerges, hinting at both landscape and escape, a shift away from routine into a sensory world shaped by material and touch.
