We've expanded into new international markets several times, and the approach that keeps working isn't a strategy deck. It's the opposite. Here's what we do instead.
Start small, and start tactical
Rather than spending weeks building an elaborate plan for a market we don't yet understand, we start with small tactical campaigns. Little experiments, cheap to run, fast to read, low-stakes if they miss.
The goal on day one isn't to win big. It's to learn quickly and cheaply what a new market actually responds to, instead of what we assume it will.
Scale what works. Stop what doesn't
Then comes the unglamorous part: we watch closely. What works, we escalate. What doesn't, we stop — no ego, no sunk-cost attachment to an idea just because it was ours. We replace the losers with new ideas and run the cycle again.
Scale the winners. Kill the losers. Replace. Repeat.
