Who built it & when was it built?🤔🕒
Is a medieval Islamic-era fortification in Cairo, Egypt, built by Salah ad-Din (Saladin) and developed by subsequent Egyptian rulers. It was the seat of government in Egypt and the residence of its rulers for nearly 700 years from the 13th to the 19th centuries.

Its location on a promontory of the Mokattam hills near the center of Cairo 🌄
Monuments of the citadel 🕌 🏰 In the first half of the 19th century Muhammad Ali Pasha demolished many of the older buildings and built new palaces and monuments all across the site, giving it much of its present form😍❤️
Mosques🕌
There are three main mosques at the Citadel
Mosque of Muhammad Ali
1-The mosque was built between 1830 and 1848, although not completed until the reign of Said Pasha in 1857. It is located in the Southern Enclosure
2-Al-Nasir Muhammad Mosque⚜️🔱
Built in 1318, during the early Bahri Mamluk period, as the royal mosque of the Citadel where the sultans of Cairo performed their Friday prayers
3- Mosque of Sulayman Pasha☺️
Built in 1528, it was first of the Citadel's Ottoman-style mosques. It is located in the Northern Enclosure. It was built on the ruins of an old mosque of Abu Mansur Qusta.
