Social media has become a great way to reach out to your customers. Gathering information about the preferences and opinions of your audience has never been easier.
If you stay active on social media and keep in touch with your audience, it’s often easy to tell what resonated with them and what didn’t. It’s important to listen to your customers to find out how you can improve your business. While collecting feedback is crucial to a successful business, it’s almost pointless if you don’t actually use that feedback in a meaningful way.

There are a lot of stories out there about companies who burned the boats and sunk all of their efforts into one particular plan- and then beat the odds to make it work.

In these stories, you’ll hear about the tremendous risk that they took and how they were able to prevail in the face of all of it.
However, this is almost never the case. If you were to actually look at the story at any single point in time, you’ll often find that the “hero” didn’t have that linear plan that you imagined they did. There is a lot of trial and error, mistakes, luck, and other factors that led to them making the decisions that they did.

The journey is much more random than we are led to believe. As such, we are caught up with the idea that this person found the silver bullet, and perhaps we could emulate that success.
When a business idea hits, we jump right in. We start by creating goals, and then going through each of those goals and laying out all of the things we need to do so that we can accomplish what we’ve set out to do.

Every step is planned out down to the Tee. For some of us, it’s this planning that holds us back, (but that’s a post for a different day).

That same amount of planning should go into your Plan B. You need to take the time to discuss what could happen if your backup plan doesn’t work out.

Stop Fearing Failure. Instead, Be Willing to Fail
The number one reason entrepreneurs don’t succeed is because they’re afraid to fail — that fear can even keep them from starting something in the first place.

Create a Long-Term Vision Instead of Only Short-Term Goals
You can’t reach a destination if you don’t know where you’re going. Same goes if you’re climbing the corporate ladder, switching jobs, or starting a new business. Before you can create a strategy and set your short-term goals, you first need to write a long-term vision of success.
Don’t Be Afraid to Break the Rules
Growing up, I was a bit of a rebel. But despite what my parents and teachers told me, this didn’t hold me back. If anything, my affinity for troublemaking made me a better entrepreneur.
