EgyptAir resumes flights to Sharjah, Bahrain starting May 1

EgyptAir announced the resumption of its regular flights to Bahrain and Sharjah starting May 1, 2026, operating one daily flight to Sharjah and five weekly flights to Bahrain.

In a statement on Thursday, the Airline said the move comes in coordination with civil aviation authorities in several Gulf cities as part of a gradual plan to restore operations in line with current regional developments.

Egypt denies reports purporting fertilizer shortage for summer season

The Cabinet Media Center issued a statement via its social media platforms Thursday denying reports of a shortage of agricultural fertilizers for the summer season.

106,000 tons of goods handled at Red Sea ports

The Red Sea Ports Authority (RSPA) said total vessel traffic at its ports reached ten ships with 106,000 tons of cargo handled along with 803 trucks and 182 cars.

In a statement Thursday, RSPA said inbound traffic included seven vessels carrying 36,000 tons of goods, 441 trucks and 196 cars, while outbound traffic comprised seven vessels transporting 70,000 tons of cargo, 362 trucks and 13 cars.

President Sisi: EGP 1,500 monthly exceptional grant for irregular employment workers for three months

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi Thursday directed Thursday disbursement of an exceptional grant to irregular employment workers registered with the Ministry of Labor worth 1,500 Egyptian pounds per month for a period of three months, from May to July 2026 in order to safeguard workers’ interests and improve their conditions.

In a speech delivered on the occasion of Labor Day, which falls on May 1 each year, President Sisi also directed the exemption of certain categories of irregular workers from the fees required for skills certification and craft licensing, in order to integrate them into the formal sector and extend social protection.

Fuel sales in Jordan rise 14.5% in 1st quarter, with diesel leading at 512 million liters

Sales of petroleum derivatives in Jordan rose by 14.5% during the first quarter of 2026 compared to the same period last year reaching approximately 975.8 million liters, according to data from Jordan’s Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources.

The data showed that sales of Octane 90 gasoline -the most in demand in the local market -increased by 9%, recording about 375.2 million liters during the first three months of the year.

Italian FM urges acceleration of talks for Iran–US agreement

Italian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani said he held phone calls with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, stressing the need to speed up efforts to reach an agreement between the two sides.

President Sisi inspects construction works of Pyramids station in Giza

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi Tuesday morning conducted an inspection tour of the construction works for the Pyramids Station project in Giza Governorate., which is part of the first phase of the Metro Line 4.
