We collaborated with Takween ICD to develop Terranera, a premium brand handcrafted in Esna, Upper Egypt. Our scope included the brand’s naming, visual identity, and packaging design, all crafted to reflect Terranera’s authentic origins and exceptional artisanal quality. Terra Nera is “the black soil” or “the black land” referring to “Kemet” the ancient name of Egypt during the Pharaohs. The name is derived from the colour of the rich and fertile black soil which was due to the annually occurring Nile inundation.

Terranera products are handcrafted in Esna, Luxor in upper Egypt. Starting from planting, sun-drying, and packaging.

Fun Fact: Did you know that Egypt is the second producer of sundried tomatoes worldwide behind Italy!

Fakher, the seal stamp maker.�
This branding project is part of a series where we branded small traditional businesses in Esna, a beautiful small town in Upper Egypt. �
Fakher, the seal-stamp maker, eloquently engraves names on small copper stamp. This trade has been passed on from the ancient Egyptians since around 3000 BC. The personal seal stamp was quite popular back in the day for illiterate people who used it as their bank/authentic signature.

Drawing from the historical relevance, ancient Egyptians were known to make inscriptions on the bases
of scarabs to function as stamp-seals, hence, the main element to inspire the logo symbol was the scarab.

Naming and full brand identity for Otrovato, an online platform where buyers and sellers can connect and communicate with each other.

The platform offers a range of features that make it easy for businesses to find and connect with suppliers, negotiate pricing and terms, and complete transactions securely and efficiently.

We designed a simple and versatile logo that allows for a dynamic & flexile identity system based on the intersection concept, the place where buyers meets sellers on a global scale. This modern and dynamic system echos the brand’s vision and mission. It can be used horizontally and vertically allowing the use of full scale visuals and impactful messages.

Otrovato is a service offered by O Trade & Logistics (OTL), under the umbrella of Orascom Investment Holding (OIH).
