Even before the pandemic caused massive job and business losses, small businesses were declining in the US.

The number of new companies as a share of all businesses has dropped by about 50% since 1978.

The percentage small businesses contribute to GDP also has declined from 57% to 42% - and that number is falling.

What's more, 15% to 20% of small businesses used to grow into medium and large businesses each year. Pre-pandemic, that number had fallen to 7%.

Finally, employment by small businesses also has declined, while big corporation growth and employment has risen. In 2000, small businesses employed 52% of all Americans. Now... it is 47% and falling.

The Reform Party believes that more needs to be done to invest in small businesses and entrepreneurs. The Democrats and Republicans have failed small businesses for decades. It's time for a change.
