YOU MAKE PEOPLE BORED
You might think focusing on creating discounts and bargains is a great advertising strategy to get people's attention
Well, it used to be a great strategy.
But that's not where you should invest your effort nowadays, let me explain:
Do you remember when you got your first smartphone?
Probably there weren't many in the market. Every new smartphone was grabbing your ATTENTION
We all were (and still are) curious!
Contrary, if today someone tells you a new smartphone entered the market,
you won't even check it.
What's changed?
You got BORED with repetition.
You've been told so many times "a new smartphone is out", that it isn't something special anymore.
The EXACT SAME THING occurs with discounts
Everybody is so used to seeing discounts EVERYWHERE,
same bargains here and there
So they just (unconsciously) skip repetition.
(Your money isn't being effectively used)
Hence, instead of putting your effort into making the product more attractive by LOWERING its price
IMPROVE the offer,
make your product more VALUABLE
highlight the BENEFITS
explain why it is A COMPLETE MUST-HAVE
It is x100 MORE LIKELY that someone checks on your product after they discover the benefits it brings
when they actually LOVE the product
compared to offering a 40% discount on some product they don't know what it is used for.
It is your job to make the product MUCH MORE VALUABLE than what you have priced them for.
If your customers feel they are stupid not to buy, you'll beat sales records.
(HOWEVER don't get me wrong, for WARM AUDIENCES discounts and bargains work tremendously well. )
