Decoding the Hero’s Journey through geometric minimalism and visual archetypes 🌀✨

I’ve spent the last few months deconstructing the most universal story ever told into its purest visual form. This system is a functional tool designed to help navigate the arcs we all experience—personally, creatively, and professionally. Each of the 12 symbols represents a critical threshold, acting as a visual prompt for deeper reflection on where we are and where we’re going.

The project is based on the narrative theory of Joseph Campbell and it has been commissioned by Dutch philosopher Minke Tromp. I’m not quite ready to reveal exactly how these will be used yet, but they will probably become a product available for purchase.

More bits designed for Barcelona Pensa. For screen-printing the tote bags we had to come up with a way of showing the key visuals with just one ink. (1) This is the design that translated better into monochrome and that got printed.(2) Alternative fabric color that we didn’t use. (3) I also quite liked this alternative design option but felt too different. Which one is your favourite?
