Zara Pre-Owned
Visual Identity & Website Design for a Circular Future
At Cordova Canillas, we are excited to share our latest collaboration with Zara on the redesign of their Zara Pre-owned identity. This innovative project, part of Zara’s Join Life Spectrum, brings new life to pre-owned garments, allowing customers to repair, donate, resell, or buy second-hand clothing.
The concept behind the redesign was rooted in the idea of the “Archive.” Zara’s rich history, not only in fashion but also in iconic photography and campaigns with renowned photographers like David Sims, Steven Meisel, or Mario Sorrenti, as well as legendary models like Kate Moss and Gigi Hadid or Mark Vanderloo, gave us an amazing foundation to work with.
Our goal was to elevate Zara Pre-owned beyond the typical second-hand market and transform it into a high-end, sophisticated experience, while staying true to the program commitment to sustainability. We opted for a bold, sans-serif condensed typeface to evoke a sense of strength, nostalgia and modernity, while maintaining accessibility across different platforms and suports, and combined archival materials, classic and contemporary photography, street style imagery, and sleek design elements to communicate the platform’s purpose clearly and compellingly. The challenge was to convey the message in a way that made the project not only luxurious and aspirational but also easy to understand and accessible.
This was a scaled project, with work spanning from the new visual identity and graphic system design to website design, social media, and in-store shop screens to mention a few.
It’s been an incredible journey, and we’re proud of what we’ve achieved together, bringing Zara’s vision for circular fashion to life in a clear, elevated, and compelling way.
