Celebrating the signage and narrative for the “All Gender Toilet Pavilion” at Expo 2025 in Osaka.

Gender identity does not always align with physical classifications, and society is just beginning to recognize this. We started from a main idea, which is to ensure that visitors do not feel lost, neither functionally nor emotionally. We proposed the space as a common place, without classifications, easy to understand and to walk through, in which gender identity is blurred. ‘We are all fish in one water’ represents poetically what we wanted to achieve and becomes the value proposition of the project.

Our signage design for the Expo toilet pavilion addresses two key issues:

1. Encouraging acceptance of all-gender toilets.
2. Providing clear navigation to prevent confusion.

**Our solution** A directional system designed to ensure no one feels lost. This includes three types of tape in different colors, universal pictograms for easy comprehension, and strategically placed signs to guide visitors effectively

It was a great honor to collaborate with , the talented architects behind the stunning pavilion I visited a few weeks ago in Osaka.
